The location is good, it overlooks a beautiful church and the public library. Being in the middle of the city provides you access to multiple eateries and bars. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is limited and okay while the working space is comfortable and good.
If this hotel is representative of what Marriott is doing with Westin's, the Westin brand is deteriorating. Plastic cups in the rooms like a Best Western. Quattro restaurant is poor; asked for glasses for wine and one glass was very dirty. Quattro delivered our dinner to the wrong room; when we got the dinner it was not what we ordered. Thermostat in room was 'dead'; if not fixed management would make us move everything to a different room at 8:30 pm. Maintenance found that when the filters were changed the thermostat was not turned on! And the guest had to discover the thermostat was not working. Westin still has comfortable beds. Fortunately the valet and front desk people were good--although the staffing is very thin until 7am when the nightshift ends! Do not recommend and will avoid Westins in the future.
It should be unnecessary to praise what used to be normal expectations, but yet here we are. This hotel did not disappoint in any single way. Clean, freshly updated (or relatively new, I can't tell which). Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious, well appointed, comfortable. The location is safe - isolated from really anything close by other than the clinic in the adjacent parking lot. Wish all hotels could be this on point and consistent with brand.
Stayed 1nt in a queen room #1001 on 10th floor with a coffee maker, individual controlled air con & also a ceiling fan in Aug & was very cool to sleep. Bathroom had a shower/tub combo with sliding doors. On the same floor is a pool table room & a reading room with tons of books, recliners, a piano & sheet music! On the 8th floor with the ice machine, snack vending machine & drink vending machine, there is also a microwave! The rooms don’t have one but you can go here to heat up your leftovers👍 Free shuttle to/from cardinals game; first departure 1 hr before game. Parking garage is $18 & is in & out. Bring ticket in for reception to validate. & it is Almost attached…just across a one way tiny street from the back entrance..didn’t see an elevator so park on 2nd level if possible(1st floor for “members”) We walked to & from cardinals game & it was quick, easy & safe. We would stay here again if the price was still much better than the other hotels in the area. Also: they have a water bottle refilling station in the lobby (sort of hidden across from check in by the coat check room)
BBLE2551Check in was quick and easy but our first room had a horrible smell that we had to change rooms. Staff switched rooms without issues but no act of concern. Second room smelled better but was still not cleaned well. Rooms in need of remodel or maintenance upkeep. Ceiling has flaking paint, furniture and interior doors worn, and carpet stained. Pool and hot tub need cleaned with scum layer formed on wall sides and floor. Most of this hotel is just poorly cleaned. Never seen anything like it for a Marriott hotel.
CCiera HThe hotel was so beautiful! The walls were a little disappointing, but that’s a part of its old charm. It’s not going to be perfect, but I love the view from the pool. I wish I had more time to stay. they were so sweet. It was my boyfriend‘s birthday and they said happy birthday. They also got him something from the convenience store, which is really nice. They were. The staff was really really helpful and kind.
NNeceb805The check in into the hotel went very smooth. The employees (all) at the front desk greeted us when we entered the hotel. We got checked in and the employees mentioned the restaurant in the hotel about breakfast in the morning. The breakfast wasn't free so we didn't get a chance to try the restaurant. We ordered out for dinner. Our room was clean, nice and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and clean as well. I later went downstairs to the patio to drink my cocktail and first ran across a guy who also was staying in the hotel at the time. The gentlemen spoke to me as he came out and I spoke back. We get to talking about and when I say this guy was hilarious...I laughed the whole time. Later the bartender Mio (I hope I spelled his name correctly) came out and he was the greatest guy. We talked about our jobs and being in our profession for over 25 years. He had great customer service and although I didn't buy any drinks (bc I bought my own alcohol) he still was professional and a great guy. He entertained my 4 year granddaughter who was have her own conversation with him. I want to say this night was one of my best birthday nights hanging out with Mio and the hilarious gentlemen making me laugh so hard. I want to give a shout out to Mio!!!!! Lastly, the checkout went great. However, upon arriving there was construction and we were told by the hotel front desk to park in a parking lot around the corner. When my daughter went to get her car to pull up at the hotel to load our bags she found a $65 ticket on her window. What the hotel didn't tell us but should had was ”you can park around the corner in that parking lot but you need to be moved by a certain time or you do have to pay to park.” I am not sure if the lot belongs to the hotel or not and we checked in on Sunday so it could of been free. But they should of given us a warning for the next day. Not very happy about that event and that part can change my view about staying at this hotel again.
