We had the most wonderful stay here, we can’t fault this place at all. It’s a boutique type hotel, but plenty of room in the restaurant, bar and around the pool. Our room was small but spotlessly clean, comfy and had the most beautiful view of Naples and Mount Vesuvius from the balcony. Special thanks to the reception staff who went above and beyond when my fiancé fractured her ankle. They organised a taxi for us and called ahead acting as translator. So grateful to them all. The restaurant food was delicious and the staff very welcoming and attentive. The walk to and from Sorrento is about 25-30 mins and not very pleasant but they provide a free courtesy bus available which was a godsend, just remember to book as they are only 8 places on the bus; trips are usually every 30 minutes. I’m sure we will return to the Sorrento area, and when we do I’m sure we will return to Hotel Caravel.

Had a lovely relaxed stay at this hotel. Room was very modern and had a lovely view of the mountains with a good sized balcony. All of the staff from reception, to housekeeping and restaurant were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Elisabetta S. Bar prices were in keeping with other hotels and restaurants. The swimming pool was quite deep and so as a non swimmer I had to restrict myself to the shallower end! there is a section for smaller children. The hotel is ideally suited as a base for exploring the main tourist sites and wider area being less than a 10 minute walk from the train station with the main Sorrento area a 2 minute train ride or 30 minute stroll away. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean, bright, airy, family run hotel, in a superb location, with the most pleasant and helpful staff and amazing views especially from the pool and poolside restaurant/bar! Great air con, which is very quiet. Food and service excellent (sometimes breakfast options not replenished for those wanting a later breakfast!) Away from the hustle and bustle of town centre but everything easily accessible; 5 minute bus ride into centre of Sorrento, 2 minutes to Massa Lubrense (In Sorrento, we got on/off bus at petrol garage/La Fenice restaurant as at Marina Grande end of Corso Italia which is main shopping street, off which lots of lovely restaurants) Bus passes hotel in both directions every 20 minutes and costs 2 euro pp Hotel staff can arrange all excursions which are good value for money and include hotel pick up/drop off. Be sure to research what's available at your excursion destination and transport links so to make the best of your free time during the excursion and avoid missing anything! Staff are also happy to arrange taxis/airport transfers. The small, quiet beach of San Montano is walkable from hotel (approx 20 min). The hotel can arrange a shuttle to Marina di Puolo (approx 5min) and the stunning Regina Giovanna is a 5 min bus ride, followed by 20 min walk NB Walking to beaches is downhill, uphill return is more challenging! All well worth a visit. Massa Lubrense itself has a lovely town square and pretty port. There is an amazing restaurant there, Il Cantuccio, which has excellent food and wine and the most stunning views and sunsets. A visit to the traditional lemon farm near the hotel is a must to try making your own limoncello and have a fabulous lunch (can be arranged by the hotel)

The only negative thing about our experience here was... that we failed to book at least 2-3 nights. We only had time for one night on Capri, but it was an unforgettable evening. Rita was extremely helpful from the jump, even when exchanging our first messages when we booked 3 months in advance. My girlfriend was not feeling well on the way into Sorrento, where we caught a ferry. Rita helped arrange people to help direct us at several locations, and gave us tips on how to find a good cabbie. Once we arrived, we were greeted with all the knowledge we needed to enjoy our stay on Capri. I took a 3 minute video of Rita giving us the run down on where to find busses, where to eat, and sights to see, all located on the very detailed map they offered us. We checked in and the room was delightful; great room temperature control and very inviting. The whole property was a bright, decorated display of what the island has to offer as a whole. Top-notch breakfast included, very reasonable rate. Round the clock service, so beverages are always accessible, with a nice variety. Upon checkout, we were given a private shuttle to the center of Anacapri, where we linked up with a very friendly taxi driver. All around a great experience.

Comfortable, well kept B&B about equal distance from 2 gates to the archaeological site. Walking distance from the train station. My room had a nice little balcony that looks over the garden and the mountains on the far side of town. There’s also a larger, public patio with wisteria that was still blooming. Everything was clean and in good order. Dario is a good host who makes a really nice cappuccino. The breakfast was ample and varied, in the continental style. Dario will also book a tour of the ruins, or Vesuvius, Herculaneum, etc. for you. The Pompeii tour I booked was interesting; I’d recommend doing that to get oriented and learn about the site, and then staying and walking around on your own. Although the walls are a little thin so if someone is being noisy you’ll hear it, in general it was quiet. Not much street noise and minimal foot traffic nearby. Plenty of restaurants a couple blocks away.
