Almost 2 years on from our original planned stay, we finally stayed at the Eringer! We had a lovely stay for my wife's birthday. The hotel is beautiful and the surrounding views are stunning. It helped that there was fresh snow to gaze upon, including a decent down pour whist we were there, which added to the views. The staff were all very friendly in the hotel. We especially appreciated the great service from one of the main bar staff with curly hair (who worked most evenings). The spa was also great and we spent most days in there. Food in the main restaurant was good, service was also decent - although on the Saturday, at almost full occupancy, it did struggle a little. Hopefully, just teething problems. We came not expecting too much, given the issues with our previously planned stays. However, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Yes, there are things that still require improving, but we were there on day 1 of their new season so you would expect most of these things to naturally improve over time. Our only real disappointment was that not everything was open in the hotel (Le Deck, the other restaurant). Whilst appreciating we were there early in the season I did check in to see if everything was fully operational before we travelled. The main thing, would we come back and recommend - I think we would due to the views, decor, spa and friendly staff.

While we enjoyed our 5 night stay at this hotel it isn’t quite right for us. The hotel is based below Thyon and while it has ski-in access to the new Les Masses lift (and almost ski out - you have to walk up an iced path to get to the slope), it is at the far end of the 4-vallees making skiing across to Siviez, Nendaz and Verbier a hassle. This end of the 4-vallees is not as joined up as it could be! The hotel itself is new and looks smart and contemporary. Our room was sufficient for 2 but I would not say was spacious. Our bathroom was well sized but only had a shower ( - fine with me). Breakfast was acceptable without being great and the somewhat limited range of options meant I was getting bored after the 3rd day. We ate at the restaurant 1 night and found the food to be tasty but service was very slow. There is a large, new spa which I went to once. I can’t explain why but I did not enjoy it - mostly it was full of non-hotel residents visiting the spa and there were also lots of kids running when I visited. All in all this was simply the wrong location for us but for a 3 or 4 day trip to the mountains, this could be ideal for some.

If you want to experience the genuine canton du Valais : avoid it ! The location is gorgeous in the Val d'Hérens, but one does not feel local at all.. it was like being somewhere in Haute Savoie in France.. Disappointing to see that even if new, already lots of details are fading.. it gives an impression of badly managed, with very little care of details.... I don't need luxury, but when I book a hotel that claims to be 4* then I expect 4*... Info : the Spa is not part of the hotel, it's public bathes, not even the same company, despite being at the same place. Personally I also faced errors during check-out : they wanted to invoice more than what was confirmed by e-mail.... One positive note : the room was great, clean and we slept well.

We had a fantastic time at the spa. It is beautifully designed with spectacular views of the mountains and is very clean. Swimming outside in the warm thermal waters while overlooking the mountains and the slopes was such a great experience. The sauna also had stunning views. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful brand new hotel in thyon. Very nice views and restaurants. Rooms not big but convenient and well done. Staff is very nice and helpful. Lobby/bar is simply amazing. Restaurant is good but still getting into real shape (just opened). Spa not done yet but very curious to see when finished

Beautiful hotel with a lot of potential but not yet ready for take off. Especially the kitchen needs some more time to operate smoothly. Both the dinners and breakfasts took ages with many mistakes (but the food itself was good). The staff was super friendly and offered us free desserts etc. So we hope that things get better and that many people can enjoy the beautiful place.
