I was very impressed with the room. I had a twin room, it was very clean and felt like the decor was relatively new. The beds were comfortable and the TV was easy to use. There was a small kettle and teas and milk (although no hot chocolate). Small waters. No fridge. I didn’t get much time to explore the surrounding area as I was there for a conference. But if there wasn’t a conference on I would recommend to others to stay here.
Welcoming and friendly. On the fringe of the city centre, which is less than 10 minutes walk. The hostal is impeccably clean. I shall definitely return
Nice relaxing place, beautiful garden. Only issue I had no water available at night. Vending machine cash only. Rest of hotel card only. Reception staff were not helpful. Could not offer a glass of water. Disappointed.
Thank you to all the team at Redwings Lodge
Who look after you so well ,they treat you like family and always with smiles .
Again everything very clean and in good order and this is a an old building so not an easy task .
The bed comfy ,lovely linens and fluffy towels , tea coffee available in room and more if you run out .
Everything you need outside ,cafes ,eateries pubs and shops .
Buses to Birmingham Center and Solihull with its train station .
So it’s got everything and much more at a reasonable price .
Again Thank you all , till next time .
After reading reviews and seeing images of the hotel I was apprehensive about staying at The Britainnia.
The lobby wasn't the most welcoming. It seemed dark and probably hasn't been upgraded since the hotel was built in the early 70's.
My Room 330 greeted me with the smell of fresh paint, new carpet, furniture and a recently upgraded bathroom.
For the price I paid, it was good value for money.
I stayed here at the end of May 2025 as a solo traveller. Quiet location with buildings in very nice landscaped grounds. All areas of the hotel I experienced were spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive in all areas at all times. Bed was comfy and room facilities all I needed. Would happily stay here again.

SSun KuenThe hotel is located just 4 mins walk from Burmingham New Street Station. The hotel room is big and clean and there are many shops and restaurants nearby.
TTAMBGenerally good for short trip over the weekend, great location with access to public parking and car parks. However the lift wasn’t working properly leading to delays. In room facilities get dated and so can tailor just basic needs, cleanliness just ok barely borderline 3 stars. Staffs are friendly and helpful, many staffs at the canteen during breakfast times, responsive and friendly. Passed for the money spent increasing overall cleanliness and better quality towels etc. would help increase rating.
匿匿名ユーザーRooms need a little renovation but decent for short overnight stay. Staff are nice and breakfast decent for price. I always enjoy my nights stay.
KKoon HoDecent sized room. Reasonably clean. Has an indoor swimming pool, which is really nice. Location is not near the city center. Overall, a good stay.
ゲゲスト5 stars. Exceptionally clean room, outstanding staff and an unbeatable location. Everything you need is within walking distance and the surrounding shops and amenities make it the perfect spot. Friendly people throughout and an altogether excellent stay. Highly recommended.
SSfrixelReally unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the room, there was a huge amount of dust anywhere that I was sneezing continuously.
Also, the most disgusting thing were the bedsheets, stained with yellow spots! I asked for a new set of bedsheets and the reception gave them to me and I had to put them on, because there was no one of the cleaning team to do it.
Very very very unsatisfied.
