"Train grave" in the suburbs of Uyuni. Minerals and salts once collected around the Uyuni Salt Lake were transported and exported by train to Antofagasta, Chile. After the defeat in the fight against Chile in the 19th century, the remains of the unuseable steam locomotives and trains were now collected at stops on the outskirts of Uyuni. The "Graveyard of the Train", where many abandoned locomotives are lined up in a desolate land, is also popular as a photo spot when you can take nostalgic photos.
