Super convenience, very good location and nearby the big shopping mall bullring
There are also very close to the train station
Lots of restaurant entertainment and the shops
Hyatt Rengency Hotel Birmingham is a very nice and cozy hotel with great facilities. It offers halal food, and prayer mats are available upon request, which I really appreciated. The leisure facilities are lovely, with a heated swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and spa.
However, my stay was let down by the fact that the room did not have a smart TV as mentioned on the website, which caused a lot of wasted time considering that I planned to stay in most of the times. The hotel eventually upgraded us (to a similar room just a few floors higher) after several contact made to reception and a long wait, but I’m grateful to Kenza for her assistance. On checkout, Nandini was very kind and offered support for my next visit as a gesture for the inconvenience.
There's also an issue with parking, which operates on a first come first serve basis. So if you park your car on day 1 and say you're staying for 3 days, you have to pay for the parking for 3 days ahead which is £27 for 24hr. During these days if you happen to take your car out and come back with no free parking space, you lose your money. Your slot is not reserved. It would be better if they charge us for parking when we are leaving the car park rather than making us pay in advance.
Overall, a comfortable hotel with excellent amenities, but clearer information on room facilities would have made the stay much smoother. I would have come better prepared.
Having a twin room for my teenage daughter and myself should have a slightly more private shower area, it was quite awkward! A double room would be understandable for such visibility but not twin!
The ‘breakfast’ that was included that is usually £8.50 per head was appalling and I was not the only customer surprised! The Orange juice was sweetened squash, no cooked food (breakfast is not described anywhere online or in any booking information so unfortunately it’s assumed that cooked food would be available, I rang in advance to ask what time breakfast started, and mentioned my daughter liked a hot brekkie when we visit Birmingham for hospital appointments, but was not told even at that point that no cooked food would be available), cardboard bread that was being liberally manhandled (no tongs) cereal smelled old, bowls of yogurt were dried at sides, fruit bowls also drying out on top and the only thing I could stomach was a cup of tea that tasted like the coffee/hot water machine had never been cleaned. I left with an empty stomach, and my daughter ate a croissant. Not worth paying for so it was luckily included, although not so lucky for the paying customers.
Hotel is situated within the university grounds complex - unbeknown to us it was graduation week so they were hundreds of students and their parents celebrating their achievements it was a wonderful site to see.
The hotel was a stone throw away from the city centre so there were lots of things to see do and eat.
A fantastic choice
Generally good for short trip over the weekend, great location with access to public parking and car parks. However the lift wasn’t working properly leading to delays. In room facilities get dated and so can tailor just basic needs, cleanliness just ok barely borderline 3 stars. Staffs are friendly and helpful, many staffs at the canteen during breakfast times, responsive and friendly. Passed for the money spent increasing overall cleanliness and better quality towels etc. would help increase rating.
Fantastic stay lovely hotel staff very friendly and helpful from checking in to leaving .
We attended a concert at the utility arena the location of this hotel is spot on .
Breakfast was very good a wide range of food which catered for everyone thank you for an enjoyable stay we are already playing out return 😀.

This is my first time in Birmingham, and wow! it feels quite different from other places I’ve visited! The first thing I noticed is that I hardly saw any white people here, and the few I did see didn’t seem to be British.
.
I actually thought for a moment, Am I really in England? That said, I find the city rather charming, at least from the little I’ve seen in my short 2-day stay. If I come back, I’d love to spend more time exploring and getting to know Birmingham properly!
