Checking in was good and we thought we were in for a great stay. After that it was sadly downhill all the way. Rooms ok but basic, and upgrading to a Suite is definitely not worth the extra money. Take earplugs as the noise from the roads, restaurants, bin emptying etc is constant. The bar was not opened for our whole stay, and the staff were very dismissive when we questioned why it was not available. One receptionist just shrugged his shoulders and looked back down to his paperwork. After check in they barely acknowledged us as we came and went. No air conditioning in the rooms so we had to leave windows wide open at night - cannot imagine what it would be like in summer. No tea and coffee making facility in the room. No outside space to use unless you go down the road to the sister hotel. Basically confined to your room, and you had to go out to find all your food and drink as there was no Room Service on offer either.
Very cool and funky hotel in a great area. Location: center city. Very convenient to many of the sites, metro, shopping (high end), hop on/ hop off bus, nice restaurants, etc Hotel overall: just COOL with a very laid back, fun vibe. Daily free yoga classes. Free walking tour. Amazing breakfast. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. No language issues. Decor is fabulous and eclectic. Excellent use of old and new. Elevators from the last century. Circular staircases surround the elevators. Yoga studio with colorful, comfortable pillows. Tile floors. Lots of shared/common areas including library, study, terrace (great sitting area for cards and a glass of wine), communal kitchen with fridges, micro, plates, glasses, flatware... The room: we got a double with ensuite bath. The room was TINY and dark. Had a bed and an open ”warerobe” with a rod and couple of shelves and that was it. One window with drapes looking out over a small, dark inner courtyard type square. Not even bedside tables. The bath was tiny and the shower floor was ceramic and treacherous when wet. No grab bars, so be had to be very careful. The room was quite off putting at first, but once you ”let it go”, it sort of fit with the experience. It made us socialize more and enjoy the common areas. Met a couple of interesting people... No TV -- anywhere, including common areas. At first it was strange, but we ended up enjoying the break from the noise -- it fits with the Casa vibe. Price/rate: very reasonable, @$100us per night plus tax.
Booked this hotel last night due to needing a 2 night stay. Front desk staff was excellent. Stored our bags before check in and after check out. Able to get an iron and extra blanket when needed. Close to many shops and restaurants. Close to the Picasso museum. Room was as pictured. Nice balcony overlooking the main road. No soap holder by the sink. Otherwise, the bathroom was nice and large (shower only). We didn't eat here, as there were many brlunxh places and restaurants we wanted to try. Would stay here again.

Reserva de dos adultos y un bebé menor de un año, nos pusieron una cama supletoria, no una cuna. El bebé tuvo que dormir con nosotros en la cama. La habitación estaba congelada, tuvimos que esperar a que la calefacción hiciera su efecto al cabo de un rato. Esto que parece una tontería, cuando viajas con un bebé lo tienes muy en cuenta. Habitación sucia: papelera del baño sin vaciar, huella pegajosa en interruptor (adjunto foto) , asientos de la habitación mugrosos (adjunto foto). La cama solo tenía una fina colcha y sábana, ni edredón ni manta. No es una habitación acogedora es más bien fría. El buffet del desayuno le falta calidad, embutido resecado, huevos revueltos incomestibles, bacon que parecía chicle. Cuando recogieron el buffet, todavía estábamos allí y pudimos ver que las pizarras con embutido se ponían unas encima de otras a modo sandwich, es decir la base de una sobre el embutido de la otra. Si el embutido lo tiran vale, pero si es para guardar pues ya no vale. Además todo mezclado en el mismo carro, con lo que se produce contaminación cruzada de alimentos. Pagamos 70€ de Room Service (restaurante estaba cerrado) por 2 hamburguesas, 1 sandwich, 1 bravas incomestibles y dos cervezas, me parece un robo. Por poner una nota positiva, el personal de buffet fue muy amable.

ゲゲストWe loved our stay at the Hesperia Presidente, very good area to be based for exploring by foot or by public transport. Around fifteen minutes walk to Passeig de Gracia or similar in the other direction along Diagonal to a lovely shopping centre. The staff really go out of their way to assist and were always very friendly and informative. We were in a Junior Suite for three adults, which had a dividing door for privacy - it was initially only set up for two but this was very quickly remedied. The room was quite large, with a great bathroom/fabulous power shower! The hotel has a lovely seating area in reception which was very welcome whilst waiting for our transfer in the evening (they kept our luggage after check out with no issues at all). The area is very busy being on Diagonal but I would feel very safe travelling on my own here - lots of restaurants, bars nearby
ゲゲストI've stayed with this hotel for a number of times now, I would think about 7 times also before covid. The company I work for has also sent quite a few others to this hotel over the years. After this last visit I can say that it will probably not be the case anymore. To be honest, I felt like I was annoying the staff at the reception, it was always with a quick, condescending way that I was given answers. Like I was getting on their nerves. I paid almost 1.100 Euro to stay 1 week. In that time, the phone was broke, my door would not shut properly without slamming it, the room STANK !!! of sewage (I was told because of the pool filter or something and I was directly next to the pool basically in room 721 - the cleaning lady spoke no english so that's the info I understood), the breakfast was not to great standards; never was there bacon, the boiled eggs cold. The coffee machine broke, so the waitress was so angry that she was slamming chairs and saying angry stuff in spanish loudly about how management never takes care of the machine; she dropped all kinds of glasses and plates in the kitchen; then the cook came out and looked at me and rolled his eyes and shrugged (how do people in service actually work like this???) . It was unrelaxing and not worth the price at all. The only helpful and sincere person I met there was the girl at the reception who always asked how my day was, and also the room cleaning lady (the elder one with glasses). I was not even offered ANYTHING in response to having to sleep in a stinking room with no phone. I thought maybe someone would say to me ”sorry about all the inconvenience, have a wine on us” but not even that!! Only the next day I was asked if I wanted to move (I declined only because I was traveling to Valencia for 3 days on that day and I was told that afterwards it would be fixed so I didn't want to move if it would be fixed. But when I came back, only the phone was fixed - the smell was still there and the door I still had to slam). Also, my credit card was charged for a night on the first day of my stay, even tho my company pre-paid the whole stay in advance and it was confirmed. I had to wait several days before it was booked back to my account. At the checkout I was not asked once how my stay was. I would have otherwise told the guy there directly. But maybe he knew I would say something and chose not to ask anything. He was the most condescending of them all anyway. He never freely said Hello or Good bye. Only interested in himself. Horrible person and not sure how he can work in service! When he reads this he will know who I am, for sure. I did not have a welcoming or pleasant stay there this time and next time I and my company will choose another hotel for this or any other stays. If you feel too secure and think you have enough guests, then think again. Covid isn't gone and one day you will be surprised how quickly guests can leave and go somewhere else.
