Midland Plaza Hotel

A nice place for the price. I have stayed multiple times. Used the pool, enjoyed the bars, the employees are nice. Great location for multiple things downtown. Can walk to restaurants, event center, very convenient. Definitely will stay again.

This place was bad. From holes in walls to filthy furniture. Wooden shives under tubs to keep them level, The door frame leading into the bathroom looked like either a teething post for animals or a scratching post for cats. We had no microwave they brought us on from another room that was burned and the turn plate didn't fit. The breakfast.....forget about it, trash. The hashbrowns were sliced potatoes soaked in grease and never cooked and threw on a plate. White potatoes no salt no pepper. On a better note the sausage was very good. The bar food was garbage as well. We came for a reunion. We were told our ppl were staying there but never again. This place needs major upgrades or a wrecking ball.

I try to write as many good reviews as bad ones, will be one of the bad ones. The only two good things I have to say about the property is the location and the free parking, some underground and the garage next door. Now the bad things. One of the two elevators was not working, another guest told me it had been out since the last time he stayed there. No AC in the bar area, no AC in the hall ways and the AC in my room could not get cool enough, although it was very hot outside. Attached is a picture of the C shaped curtain rod included was sagging so the curtain could not fully close. I asked the front desk twice and one maintenance man I saw to fix it, to no avail. Very low water presser in the shower and no fridge in the room. One day no toiletries were replaced (they do not the kind attached to the shower wall), even though I left a maid tip. The hotel has no business center, I needed to print a document. The front desk said I could email them the document to print, but I did not feel comfortable doing that. I've stayed here several times and like many business people, don't see other downtown options. I'm a Hilton Diamond member so I have plenty of experiences to compare to. The bottom line is, this property had never cared and will make no effort to improve, because they don't have to. There is not another large hotel chain downtown and apparently corporate does not care about this franchise.

The rooms were nice and clean, but we unfortunately had a really bad night of sleep due to the DJ shows going on in neighbouring bars until 2:00 am in the morning. When we called reception the reception informed us that the bars in the neighbourhood had indeed DJ shows at least on Friday and Saturday.

Was tricked into booking tried contacting hotel after 5 minutes but they didn’t respond stole my money ….very angry ..Booking .com even tried but they didn’t respond to them either don’t do any business with them

We stayed in this Double Tree Hotel on August 12, 2023 to attend our friend's wedding in a nearby Church within walking distant. Out of our expectation, the front desk lady was doing an excellent job after we drove more than 4 hours from Fort Worth. She told us the time is still early at 11:00a.m., they will have the room ready earliest at 1:00p.m. (even regularly after 2:00 or 3:00p.m.). Then she made excellent recommendation for us to go to a nearby restaurant for lunch. The restaurant tasted great! As we came back, the room was ready, and we checked in smoothly. The sheet and pillow are clean with such smell of cleanliness. The is the 4th hotel experience for me in 2023, this DoubleTree is the cleanest among all! We attended the wedding and came back. Again, the front desk lady tried everything to make us feel comfortable. For example, she offered delicious free cookies for our kids. Told us the pool access time and area, gave us complimentary newspaper, etc. That lady deserved a promotion. My kids enjoyed the pool time in the afternoon. The pool is old but ok. We stay for a night, and check out on Sunday morning after the church service. The check out team was friendly and effective. I admits that this Hotel property is old. Yet, with friendly people and nice service, that makes this hotel stand out great. Please keep up the good work, good spirit, and the good people. I give this hotel a five stars.
