Having visited Boracay 30 years ago, we went back with trepidation to see if it still had some of that magic. Sadly it was now too overdeveloped for us and looking for alternatives, we came across Carabao Island. The journey there is a ferry from Caticlan, then a tuk tuk from the port. There are boats direct to Lanas beach 3 times a week and probably worth fitting your trip around as it makes it easier. As soon as we got to the Beach House, we knew we'd found the relaxed Borocay vibe from 30 years ago. We had a warm welcome from the staff and owner David, then moved into our room. The room was well appointed, immaculately clean, with very good aircon and comfy bed. Also had nice little touches like dressing gowns. The location is stunning, looking out onto a white beach, with good snorkeling on the reef 30m off shore. The food is great and reasonably priced as are the drinks. They also have good red wine, which we had only found in 1 other place in our travels in the Philippines! We had a few entertaining evenings chatting with David, the owner, over a glass or two of it! The island is currently in the "hidden gem" status. I don't think it will become over developed any time soon, but get in there before it changes!

Must try this guy's a place that is worth visiting. The surroundings are very relaxing and the staff are very accomodating you can escape a littke bit for you to relax and treat your family here so what are you waiting for come here and experience a new vibes

We spent here 4 relaxing days.Rooms are clean and well equiped. It is and beutiful place without tourist just like privite paradise.We got excellent service and special care from the owner and his stuff.If you search for quiet and romantic piece of Earth we definitely recomend!!!

Away from the now maddening crowds and folks wanting you to have a massage, take a trip on a boat, tour the island of Boracay is The Beach House in Carabou.. just a short boat ride from Boracay.. We had a very relaxing 3 night stay at The Beach House with home cooked food and excellent wine selection. It’s a home away from home, the staff were fantastic with nothing too much trouble to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. They arranged a snorkelling and fishing trip for us and also a land tour of the Island. Nothing is too much trouble. Pick up and drop off from Boracay by speedboat was easily arranged too. The Beach House is literally right on the beach, with beautiful sunsets, and so you wake and sleep to the sound of the waves. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you! It is away from it all, take a good book.. embrace the occasional blackouts (that don’t last long, if you need it WiFi and AC is available

The owner David and his staff were all friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I also can't say enough about how delicious our meals there were too. The entire family agreed that it was best food that we had eaten during our entire trip 12 day trip to the Philippines. This place was definitely a highlight of our trip!

This was our fourth time coming to the Philippines and our first time visiting this small island. We stayed at Beach House Carabao and as a group of five we booked 2 rooms with one king size bed and an additional bed in the second room for our youngest member of the family, Nia. They also surprised our son with the b-day cake on the night of our arrival. The rooms were big enough, nicely decorated and clean and the staff was really kind and accommodating. During our stay we were the only guests at the resort and we really loved the fact that we had the beach and the beach front area all for ourselves. As there are not a lot of dining options in a vicinity we had all our meals at the hotel and there was plenty to choose from for both breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend staying here while in Carabao, it is quite a ride from the port but definitely worth it.
