Far beyond any youth hostel we’ve stayed in before and very conveniently located in town next to Interlaken East station. Our bedroom on the top floor was high quality hotel standard with picture windows views of the mountains. Downstairs is a modern, large and airy bar / restaurant area with friendly staff that many of the locals also use. The result is that it doesn’t feel like a normal youth hostel at all and the clientele covers all age groups. Laundry in the basement and a microwave / kettle etc in a (less luxurious) 1st floor kitchen/ eating area mostly used by the genuine youths. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Location is perfect, if you go to JungFrau, exactly nearby the Grindelwald Terminal. There is a Coop in the Terminal, so every convenient, especially when all Coop closed on Mon, while this one still on duty. The view of our room is perfect at 3/F. The room is clean and nice. 2 minor sides are: 1) the breakfast choices are limited, mostly are cold dishes. Although the food range is limited, it is all fresh with good taste. The coffee machine is a bit new to visitors. 2) the room does not have refrigerator. So, we store our food at the balcony😂 natural refrigerator. However, it is convenient and we guess in summer, the food will….. Overall the stay is very nice!!!

The hotel is a building built in 1891. It has undergone renovations over time, but still needs to update its standards. We were only there one night. The room was small, as was the bathroom. Access to the shower was a little frustrating, because the old sliding doors did not slide well. They were supplied with soap and shampoo, there was no hair dryer. They don't have air conditioning, but in September, we opened the windows and the temperature was fine. The room had a standing fan. They offer breakfast and it had options and was well cooked. For us it was very good: juices, hot dishes, yogurt, cheese, we had a good breakfast. The best thing about the hotel, the location and the staff who assisted us that day. You can walk the distance between the station and the hotel, more or less 7 minutes, and around you find shops, markets, restaurants, internal bus routes. We were attended that day by Lucía, who received us with great enthusiasm and warmth, she recommended how to go to the places and the beautiful parts of the lake, which buses to take, and gave us some passes to take free public transportation. We feel very well cared for. We were also assisted by a guy who explained to us how to enter the hotel after 9:30 when the reception closes. He was also very attentive and friendly.

The hotel is located about 650m from Interlaken West station. It is a direct, flat and easy enough walk, even dragging suitcases behind you. It is an old, traditional style building, with 2 sections - front and rear - with the rear section possibly a bit quieter than the front, from a traffic perspective, but the road is not overly busy anyway. The rooms are a little dated, but comfortable. We (a couple) were upgraded to a family room (mezzanine second bedroom) in the rear section, although the main area was still relatively small. The room had a balcony, which is always nice, but no fridge or air con. Two portable fans were in the room and these were needed, in conjunction with an open balcony door, given the days were hot and nights warm. However, the important things were good - a comfortable bed and a good shower. The staff were very helpful and friendly; the predominantly cold breakfast was quite reasonable; there was a bar/lounge on the ground floor of the rear section; the Old Town was a 10 minute walk and there were a number of restaurants within the same 10 minute walk, so the location was fine. All in all, although not really modern, it was comfortable and it provided a pleasant stay.

This beautiful hotel is one of the best hotels I live in in Interlaken. It has a very special location. The views of all the rooms are wonderful and have a stunning view. But the hotel is old and needs more development. The breakfast is beautiful and varied. The lobby is very beautiful. The hotel is close to restaurants, the train station, and many activities. I recommend this hotel, and I am used to it. I have lived there for many years

私たちは家族に最適なサイズだったギャラリーapt 10に滞在しました。ホテルは鉄道駅の近く、すべての中心にあります。アパートは実際にはホテルの後ろの建物にありますが、メインストリートにいるよりもうまくいくと思いました。スタッフはいつも親切でした。朝食は毎日同じでしたが、冒険に行くためにすぐに食べたかったので大丈夫でした!今、私たちの意見の長所と短所がここにあります!長所: -このアパートからの絶対に素晴らしい眺め 10!私たちは毎晩バルコニーに座り、山の美しさに驚いただけです。-バルコニーが大好きです -小さなキッチンがあるのは特にCOOPに行って食べ物、飲み物、軽食を手に入れるのはとても素敵でした -朝食が含まれています -バスルームは素晴らしかったです -アパートはきれいでした 欠点: -エアコンがないので、暖かい場合は保管する必要があります窓が開いています。残念ながら、近くのホテルのレストランから騒音が聞こえます。しかし、10時30分までにすべてが静かになるようです。- 夫と私はアパートの階段を上り下りすることに非常に心配していたので、息子は2階のベッドで寝ました。彼らは異常な形をしていました。特にアパートに滞在することをお勧めします。

4.5 easy! Our Hosts Jorge & Vivian, and staff make this a wonderful stay. They have assumed management in January 2023 with new owners, and are making many updates, to the 100+ Year Old Chalet Inn. It’s easy to see and hear their pride in this beautiful Facility. We spent a full week here while exploring Grindelwald’s surroundings. Our Hotel room had a beautiful view away from the hustle & bustle Grindelwald has become, thanks to the many activities available from here. Daily housekeeping always meant we’d have a fresh room when we returned from our planned activities. Location was about 5 minutes behind the COOP, and main thoroughfare. The one drawback however was the hill. Not terrible but could use a toboggan return rope to assist with the incline. We adapted after a few days, but it still winded us a bit. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh bread, cereal, yoghurts, eggs to order, fruit, coffee any way you like. Juice, etc. We are flat landers from sea level, so acclimating for us was more challenging. I’d return here for sure, and highly recommend Hotel Sonnenberg with the current management!

We were hiking from Schynige platte til First, and had clearly underestimated the hike and perhaps overestimated our own ability. When we reached First, the gondola down to Grindelwald was closed (for anyone else, please note that they close it rather early (17:30-18:00-ish) considering how long a hike it is from Schynige Platte, and start as early as possible, since it takes quite some time to even reach Schynige Platte with the mountain train from Wilderswil). We called the hotel, to let them know, that we were coming but it would take some time, as we had to walk down from First on very sore legs. Steffie from the reception (sorry if this is not the correct spelling of your name) was incredible kind, and tried to help us as best as possible, and directed us to the hotel halfway down, where we could try to call for a taxi. We made it to the hotel, and as luck would have it, a taxi pulled in at the same time, as it was driving some people up to the hotel up there. If you should happen to end up in the same situation, try calling a taxi and see if they will go all the way up to First. It should be possible but will of course cost a bit to get them up there. The hike down to the hotel halfway down was quite steep, so hard on the knees. We were delighted to crawl into the taxi and get driven all the way to the hotel door. Here we met Steffie, who kindly offered to open up the spa area just for us, as it had closed before we were able to reach the hotel, and would not open until after we had to check out the next day. We were too tired at that point, and were in stead allowed to go in the spa the next day, despite having checked out at that point. We ordered some food from Steffie and got it sent up to our room, and enjoyed a meal, a nice bath and a comfortable bed. The next day, we enjoyed a very nice breakfast with champagne. Best of all was the employee cooking up omelets on order at the breakfast bar. We checked out. Stored our luggage at the hotel and went for a walk in town, before heading back to the hotel and enjoying the spa after it had opened. Steffie provided us with a key to the spa, and we were then lucky enough to be able to enjoy the spa all to ourselves. Definitely recommend using it when it opens up around noon if you have the opportunity. The infinity pool was just amazing in the sunlight and with the mountains in the background. Absolutely recommend this hotel, and a very big thank you to Steffie for the great service!

5-star stay! We were part of a small tour group and drew the lucky straw for a room in one of the chalets, not in the main building! (What an experience with a lateral-moving elevator!) We had a huge corner room, with a wrap-around balcony (shared with 2 other rooms, although the corner portion just on our side had a large dining table). We had a spacious bathroom with plush robes, thick & large towels, slippers, a large tub as well as walk-in rain shower, and a separate toilet room with small sink. The suite was beautifully decorated and included complimentary still & sparkling water in the refrig., a Nespresso maker, & kettle. We needed help figuring out all the switches & buttons, but do be aware you have wooden shutters that close with those switches to provide blackout sleeping conditions. What a great idea! We enjoyed an excellent breakfast buffet with table service for coffee if we didn't want to espresso maker. Our group had dinner our first night there , and it was very good. Location is great - you're not in the middle of the very busy street with foot traffic, road noise, and myriad restaurants. It is, however, an easy walk to that main street, and you're very close to the train station, too. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the flowers gorgeous. The relatively near TI has great suggestions for hikes in town if high altitude hiking is still snowy.

Hotel Alpenhof is a classic Swiss mountain hotel - lots of pine paneling and flower boxes on the windows. It has a small restaurant that serves Swiss specialties at dinner and a nice breakfast buffet. But, best of all, it has killer views of the north face of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. I was disappointed when we checked in late and found we were reassigned from the room with a flower bedecked balcony I had booked to a suite with a patio but I quickly got over it. The suite had a bedroom, living room with a couch, coffee table and desk, and a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. It was great to have an extra room to spread out all our hiking gear and the patio, with a table, chairs and umbrella overlooking the Eiger, was a great place to hang out after long hikes in the mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant stayed open late after that late arrival and even allowed us to take pizzas back to our patio one night after an especially arduous hike. There certainly are fancier hotels in Grindelwald, but the Alpenhof is a clean, friendly and comfortable option we sincerely recommend.

2棟からなる本当に素敵なホステルです。ダブルルームは別棟にあり、団体から離れてそこは素敵で静かです。客室は広くて清潔です。朝食ビュッフェは、いくつかの安いホテルで提供されているものよりも優れています。夕食も一度食べましたが、とても美味しく、お金に良い値でした。パティオで日光を楽しむことができます。外にたくさんの座席と「グリルプラッツ」もあります。すべてが、私たちはこのホステルで素晴らしい滞在をしました。
