Sadly my 5-day break has come to an end. This has been a wonderful experience, even though my first time back since my husband's passing, so it was tough! The staff (on the whole) were incredible, in particular ”old time waiter” Daniel who excelled at breakfast and had a constant smile in his face. He greeted everyone in the same, kind, friendly manner and service was brilliant. The General Manager, Carlos Boga, (of whom all the staff spoke so very highly) seemed to be everywhere, organising last minute conference requests and seeing to personal guests and ”famous faces” too. The Reception staff were very helpful as were the Customer Service Representatives both on my arrival and departure. I had been very reluctant to come alone but the staff made it a very easy and relaxing experience. I will not be so apprehensive when I return: in fact, I positively look forward to it, hopefully with family in tow!

Overall we had a good experience at Las Arenas, and would come back. Pros: - nice hotel, spacious rooms - right by the beach, perfect for families who want to spend the majority of time on the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous and not crowded - a couple minutes walking to many restaurants along the beach; about a 10 minute to walk to restaurants in the nearby neighborhood - fitness room was well equipped; pools were not too crowded Cons: - not close to the old town; taxi ride is at least 20 minutes; bus or metro takes 25-35 min - wifi was weak at the hotel - avoid the restaurant which was overpriced and not that good; head to the restaurants on the beach instead
