We have stayed here a number of times and come at least once a year to stay. The kids love the breakfast buffet - even though it is sparse and minimalistic, they enjoy the fact that the soft boiled eggs are delivered to the table and that they have to make their own toast! We placed our largish family in one suite and slept well! Great beds, plenty of pillows and no request left unfulfilled. The staff is more that accommodating, and are, as is expected in Italy, extremely kids friendly. Highly and without reservations, recommended.

We stayed two nights, as a base for exploring the Lake Como area. Our room was fantastic, spacious with a wonderful en-suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was splendid, so really what more can I say, it was a shame to leave.

The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. They had great recommendations for meals and helped us obtain reservations. Then, we were faced with a train strike and needed to find a way to our next destination. They quickly organized transportation for us and saved the day. The hotel itself is in a perfect location close to the train station (a five minute walk) and in the center of the city. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable and the rainhead shower was great!

We stayed for three nights. Our room was in the annex, not in the main building. The WiFi was erratic. There is ample secure parking. And it is easily accessible, through a wide gate, which is locked over night and has CCTV. The surface spaces are a very good size. There is also underground parking. Our room was big, a mini-suite. It had a large safe and a fridge. Bathrobes and slippers also. Comfortable beds. The bathroom was big, with a great shower. Everywhere was absolutely spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good. The lady in the breakfast room makes excellent double espressos. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave me good advice on getting to Campione d'Italia, when my satnav was of little help. It’s a curiosity - an Italian enclave, on the shore of Lake Lugano, completely surrounded by Switzerland. My main problem was getting there and back without incurring the €40 Swiss motorway toll. We also got good recommendation from the hotel for restaurants. They list a number on the city map which they provide. We went to Bologna, which was great (closed Tuesdays, otherwise we'd have gone again) and La Piedigrotta for pizza. Go at opening time to either, if you don’t have a reservation. Otherwise forget it. Varese is a lovely relaxing town with colonnaded streets, lots of high-end shops and plenty of eateries. We will definitely stay again at Hotel di Varese.

Das Positive überwiegt das etwas weniger Positive - wir empfehlen das Hotel Gefallen · Was zuerst sehr positiv auffällt, ist die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft aller Mitarbeitenden. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Altstadt, so kann alles Sehenswerte oder Restaurants zu Fuss aufgesucht werden. Es liegt dennoch sehr ruhig. Das Auto ist in einem überwachten Innenhof gratis parkiert. Die Dusche ist super, das Bett bequem, das Frühstücksbuffet ausreichend (nicht überragend für ein 4-Sternehotel) Nicht gefallen · Das Zimmer könnte etwas Farbe vertragen, denn alles ist in Grau-beige-Weisston gehalten ohne Bilder an den Wänden. Es war zu heiss im Zimmer (26 Grad) und der Temperaturregler/Klimaanlage war ausser Betrieb. Gegen aussen war das Zimmer ruhig, aber gegen innen ist es etwas ringhörig. Nicht schlimm, aber Türenknallen oder Möbel schieben und lautes Reden nachts, hörte ich halt doch. In der Schweiz hätte dieses Hotel nicht 4 Sterne, sondern 3 Sterne verdient. Denn wir fanden es für 4 Sterne, die es hat, doch nicht so gut, dass für Eierspeisen beim Frühstück zusätzliche Gebühren erhoben werden. Das Gratis-WLAN ist nicht sehr zuverlässig, manchmal schmeisst es einen aus der Leitung. Nachts leuchten die Lämpchen der Lichtkippschalter zu aufdringlich. Ich war deshalb froh um meine Augenbinde.

Albergo 4 stelle ma di dimensioni ridotte e a gestione "familiare" nello spirito, in edificio storico. Ottima accoglienza all'arrivo, personale simpatico, arredamento moderno, servizi tutti di buon livello, centralissimo. Fondamentale il parcheggio interno. Hanno persino ombrelli a disposizione dei clienti in caso di necessità! Ci siamo stati in occasione di una visita a Villa Panza (FAI) e del pellegrinaggio al Sacro Monte di Varese. Esperienza ottima da tutti i punti di vista.
