Hôtel Mercure Villeneuve-Loubet Plage

0 stars if we could. We checked out of this hotel TWO DAYS EARLY after a horrible experience. The first issue: My wife woke the first 3 mornings of our stay with fresh bites all over her each morning and suspected bed bugs on her side of the bed so she asked me to sleep on the side she was on the 4th night. I woke the next morning destroyed in bites all over my back and legs. So we went down to reception to tell them that we strongly suspect bed bugs in the bed we were sleeping and we would like to be moved. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they couldn't have responded any worse. The cleaning lady stormed into the room screaming and shouting that there were no bed bugs in this room (before even looking) and was completely dismissive. We asked could the room be properly checked for bed bugs and the staff were so obnoxious and dismissive that their hotel could never possibly have bed bugs ( anywhere can get them). We asked if we could simply be moved to another room just in case. The hotel had been extremely quiet so we knew there were other rooms available. We were refused this option, firstly in case the bed bugs travelled with us but then it was claimed there were no rooms available. We challenged the staff on this as the hotel was so quiet. It was quite obvious that they were afraid we did in fact have bed bugs and we would bring them to another room. It was completely contradictory - there was "no way" we had bed bugs but yet we weren't allowed move rooms!!! I then checked online to find 7 smaller rooms and 4 family rooms available for the duration of our stay. They LIED about the hotel being full. I told the receptionist and after "checking online" herself the rooms were suddenly all gone!!! She obviously just closed off the option for us to book the rooms. The manager came and offered us a refund for the next 2 nights and the option to book into their sister hotel (which was miles away). We knew this was a token gesture as it was obviously too far for us to move to with the kids. But with no other reimbursement, we would have to pay the taxi fare there and any difference in price with the rooms. So basically no help at all??! He was also rude and dismissive and very shady on the availability of pest control to check the room (changed his answer twice). We decided to move hotels ourselves (uprooting all our bags and two kids) and weren't even offered an apology on exit and had to pay more plus a taxi to a new hotel. We were then in such a rush to leave that we left two pram cover bags in the wardrobe (€100 worth). Once we discovered they were missing, we rang the hotel who said they were not in the room!!! We had only moved from there into a taxi and into the next hotel and knew for a fact we had left them there. Finally, I wouldn't stay in this hotel in October if you would like ANYTHING to eat or drink during the day!!!!!! The "rooftop bar" doesn't open. This is to describe our experience in the restaurant: BAD !!! went there to celebrate with the friends to discover a new dinner menu and a very modest service!! nothing to chose from bad overcooked pasta and terrible "veloute". big disappointment and a shame to run such a restaurant in a newly refurbished hotel

The hotel is very basic- rooms are tights, there are no amenities in the bathrooms, breakfast is ok. There is an outdoor parking unsurveilled, or a paid parking. Overpriced for what you pay the quality of the hotel is quite poor - and the pictures in internet make it looks a lot nicer than what it is

A nice hotel next to the beach. Rooms are OK, not extremely spacious (some of them). The amenities are at the expected level, nothing is missing. The breakfast area is next to the pool and if the weather is nice (when is the weather not nice in Nice?) you can enjoy a wonderful view of the beach and sea in the morning.

The hotel is really great with a pool on the roof as well as a restaurant overlooking the sea. This is just very nice for some relaxing days. The restaurant is nice as well with a nice and friendly atmosphere and good service from the personel that gave a very good impression. The breakfast and the food at the restaurant is great. The pool is a big asset. The Beach is with a lot of Stones but nice anyway The rooms are fine but not big. We had a street view room - some of the sea view rooms looks nicer. There is also an affordable underground parking just across the street.

Small but more than adequate , nice clean contemporary rooms, right on the beach and short walk to the marina full of bars and decent eateries Hotel has really nice roof top bar area with a chilled beach club vibe Helpful friendly staff, even posted my watch back to me when I left it in the room safe. they couldn't have done more for me Well done Mercure Villeneuve Loubet Plage, we'll be back!
