Great location, clean and friendly staff especially the receptionist 熙熙. She noticed that it was raining outside and she handed us umbrellas with courtesy. She also offered to do laundry for us. We enjoyed our stay at the super 8 hotel. We will recommend and come again. ❤️❤️❤️
They provided a comfortable middle-sized electric vehicle to help us both ways, which is a great convenience. Even if you don’t have a Chinese mobile phone, you must provide your WeChat ID first. I did by trip.com messaging system , then they will add you and enable you to chat with the hotel using WeChat connection.
The restaurant, located on the first floor, offers affordable dining options. The friendly restaurant manager makes your experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast is very good.
ゲゲストGreat hotel! Clean and spacious rooms. The staff are really accommodating and helpful, and had no trouble using translators to communicate. Plenty of water was provided and the room was cleaned daily. Breakfast has lots of options. The location was perfect, maybe 25min to the train, 20min to the Fort, 30min to the Great Wall. There was really delicious and cheap food at several restaurants right around the corner from the hotel. The people in Jiayuguan were super kind and helpful too, so we had no trouble ordering at the restaurants despite our lack of Chinese language skills.
ゲゲストThis is a REALLY nice hotel. Unfortunately, although it is practically right next to one of the city's two train stations, the location is far from ideal. Yes, there are many restaurants close by. But Tianshui is an oddly laid out city. Look on a map and you will see two distinct parts to the city. This hotel, along with the two train stations and the airport are in the eastern city. But all the most interesting city attractions are within the west part. And the two parts are very far from each other.
Again, this is a nice, quiet, comfortable hotel. And I often try to stay at hotels near transportation centers such as train stations. The view from my room was fabulous- mountains and a train station.
But for anyone visiting Tianshui, I'd suggest you look closely at a map and take a close look at the sites within the city you are likely to visit! (To add to within-town transportation challenges, not even a single time was I able to get a ride using the normally useful ”Didi” application. This meant that it was a constant ”old school” process of trying to flag down available taxis.
Anyway, again I will emphasize, the hotel is great. It is the layout of the city itself that presents challenges that make this location difficult.
ゲゲストAs always I'll rate the hotel I stayed at relative to the cost incurred. So is it value for money?
Location : The location could not be bettered. It is the closest hotel to the Mati Grottoes. Maybe a 500m walk away.
Service : Very good, very friendly ! Welcoming and efficient on arrival. Took food orders for delivery at lunch and dinner (which helped a lot as in Winter all the restaurants in the village were closed)! And also helped me buy snacks in the afternoon (as the usual stores in the village were closed during Winter).
Bedroom : Basic however with 2 beds (comfortable and clean) and a I really liked the sunny alcove with two seats and a table, to sit and drink tea/coffee (bring your own!).
Bathroom : small but most importantly hot water and plenty of it ! The toilet is Western style not a squat (phew - good for my old knees!)
Breakfast : was provided but as I don't often eat breakfast I can't comment further.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel, it's a basic Chinese hotel so don't get expectations up, however it is great value for money, clean and has everything you'd need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again !
