Just got back from a coach trip to Ireland and stayed at the Treacy's hotel, we stayed BB and evening meal, first the positives. The hotel is a nice hotel, in a good position, not far from the city centre and by the side of the river, the hotel is spotless, the beds very comfy, kettle in the room and well stocked with teabags ect, although the wardrobe is a bit small for two people. The staff are hard working and cheerful and very helpful. Now the negatives, the first night we arrived we arrived very late due to weather conditions, we was told that soup and sandwiches would be waiting for us, which was fine as it was very late, there was sandwiches, but no soup, some of the people were given biscuits and some was not. The breakfast was not good, the english breakfast was luke warm, the toast cold, the porridge looked and tasted as if it had been made with water not milk, croissants were not on display, I did ask for some and was given them. The first two nights the evening meal was not good, the main course which you had a choice of three which was fair enough, the vegetables were frozen, one of the meals was frozen vegetables, mashed potatoes and chicken done in bread crumbs, the sweets were brought out at the end of the main course and put in a cabinet which wasn't that big, and it was like feeding time at the zoo as eveyone went at the same time, there was different sweets but you basically took what you could get lol if there was two spoonful's then we was lucky, the tea and coffee was luke warm. The last two nights the main course were better. such a shame really as otherwise the hotel is fine
