Had a junior suite that smelled terribly. Explanation from the reception: yes, that is probably due to the bar where smokers are allowed or it could be the broken air conditioning system. At 10 p.m.we received a new room, a far cheaper 'doppelzimmer', where half of the lights did not work and the interior door did not close. Several drunk guests were staggering through the hallways which gave a very unsafe feeling. Unbelievable but this hotel allows smoking in the open bar, which means that half the hotel stinks of cigarette and cigar smoke. They advertise with 'view on the beautiful castle and the old town' but from our window we only saw a train station and dirty courtyard although we asked for the view on the castle... When checking out they presented us the bill: we had to pay for the junior suite! After much discussion, the price was reduced slightly: we agreed with the little reduction (not conform the website nor ***********) because we still had a long travel ahead and were more than tired of this discussion after a bad evening and night in this hotel. It's scandalous that this hotel dares to call itself a 5* hotel.

We keep coming back here! Best place in Karlsruhe! Friendly price, wonderful rooms, always an extra mile and small details that make the stay extra special for big and small, young and old. And the lady who makes the breakfast is lovely - year after year ❤️

My wife commented this was one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in on our many trips to Europe as she walked in the room. Humidity affects her hair and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove the excess humidity. Fortunately, there was a plug outside the bathroom with a big mirror on the opposite wall. unfortunately, the bar was eyelevel, but it worked. On day two, the plug did not work. For both of us, it was very, very difficult to find the right spot between too cold and too hot for the shower. Once found it was ok, till someone, somewhere, caused the water to be scalding hot. I personally remember getting burned at least 3 times. Other than these items, showers and getting ready in the morning, the place was great. The arrival staff was superb, especially Tom. The maid was also very helpful about the plug. She brought her vacuum down to test the plug. It was head. She went out of her way for service. When we spoke about the plug at the front desk, one lady said, technicians in on Monday. Someone else heard the conversation and gave us an extension cord which we could plug into the bathroom and use outside the room. Very helpful. Great Bar service and the dinner salad dressing was superb. The bed was much better in terms of support than the bed at the Mercure in St. Germain En Laye. With the tram stop right outside, hotel is very convenient. The 5 steps Up / Down are not friendly with luggage or handicap. We were also in a remodeled room and it was nice. The glass hiding the coffee cups is inconvenient and finding the hot water pot was difficult to find at first. I hope they get the hot water fixed as I would want to stay again.

南に行く途中でここで一晩過ごしました。ブルッサル郊外(私が信じる30分歩く)に配置されています。工業地帯でもっと。静かな周辺-(土曜日の夜)。ガレージの駐車場はとても素敵なスタッフ、特に到着時のレセプションの女性。おいしい朝食中国料理が好きなら、ホテルから徒歩約3-400メートルです。私たちは行き、食べ物は良かった。良い選択

We stopped over on our way to Italy, the welcome and service were excellent. Rooms are clean, shower is superb. Food was decent. There is no airconditioning in the rooms though. Parking is free. Personalized welcome was very nice. Price was affordable

Guter Standard, genau was zu erwarten ist von einem Holiday Inn Express. Frühstück ist auch in Ordnung, nichts überragendes aber gut und ausreichend. Rezeption/ Service sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und modern eingerichtet. Sauber. Auch wegen der guten, verkehrsgünstigen Lage werde ich erneut einkehren.
