A superb room - nicely decorated. Very clean and lots of little touches: fresh milk in the fridge; water, juice, drinks in the fridge; snacks; aircon was near silent so could run through the night; even the lovely olive trees outside the rooms and the lemon tree by the entrance. Best nights sleep I’ve had in an Australian motel! I would recommend this motel to everyone.
To be honest when I first walked into room5 I thought ” this is not a deluxe room” too small, old fashioned, smallest shower cubicle anywhere in my 25 day ride around the country but it is, within small country town restraints. Has microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, a bonus as most Australian motels dont.Had tissues, flyspray, decent hot water and pressure. Helpful bloke, apart from downside of no real milk, at reception. Walking distance to Orbost Club, great meal there! Handed key tag to room and it states licensed restaurant on premises but not so. Would stay here again
We were there only one night, however could not fault the motel. Bed was comfortable, shower nice and hot and even though the motel was older, everything was in good condition and worked correctly.
On our way south we decided to stop in Mallacoota for the evening. Searching the internet for positive reviews we settled on spending the night at the Gypsy Point Lodge which is situated about 15 minutes outside of the town. You pass.it on the way in. At first glance it doesn't look like much but we had a lovely stay. Room was very clean and the restaurant right on the premises was not only convenient but served excellent food. We highly recommend the Gypsy Point Lodge. Thank you for a lovely stay, Joanne and Frank
