Location near the port, terrific reception staff, light and airy apartment. Water not hot first day of arrival. Bed mattress springs hurting back. Mattress toppers put on the bed immediately. Travelled home with back still painful. Chairs and settee (bed) felt very hard when sitting on them. No chopping board which would be useful. Otherwise sufficiently equipped to self cater. WiFi needed relogging in frequently. Gcilla on reception incredibly helpful, friendly, efficient and proactive. Any queries or problems were sorted immediately. The apartment was cleaned and was spotless when we arrived. Very good value for money. Pre arrival requests were met. Room 26 had a lovely view of the pool.Very quiet at night and few people staying. Can imagine that during high season it will be much busier and noisy. A terrific location between the town and the port.

Just had a wonderful weeks holiday via Jet2 at the lovely traditional Port Mahon Hotel which I first visited over 50 years ago. Prior to arriving I was offered an upgrade to a suite with balcony and sea view at modest cost which I gladly accepted. I enjoyed amazing views over the estuary, watching the big ships and colourful sunrises. Only negative was why the shower controller was 2 metres away from the shower head? Makes temperature control difficult & wastes water. The breakfast buffet was over 15M long offering everything you could wish for from fresh fruit, continental breakfast to full English. Service was swift. I did a lot of walking around Mahon and used the buses to visit Cuitadella, Fornells & Es Casteel, also the town train around Mahon and the glass bottomed boat for the harbour cruise. The Hotel is a great base for touring. I am planning to return again to Port Mahon Hotel next March when Jet2 start flying from Liverpool (more convenient). In summary, the Port Mahon Hotel exceeded my expectations and any thanks to Silvia on reception for helping with my arrangements. *** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***

We booked 2 nights at the beginning of our tour of Menorca and 2 nights at the end at this hotel! On arrival we were greeted by Marina who was lovely, she was very informative and attentive! She told us we had been designated room 6 for both our stays! The reception area was very decorative and charming with the original old wall! Marina showed us the rooftop, it all looked like it needed work doing too it, not well maintained or clean looking! On entering our room 6, it was modern but not done to a high standard it was a bit tacky! It was very scruffy, and the shower was disgusting! The bed was comfortable and the bed linen was pristine! So we decided to stay! As we were returning we didn’t approach the reception with our issues, just in case we couldn’t get another hotel when we were due to return! That was our mistake, we should have stated it was not what we expected from a 4 Star Hotel! Breakfast was just ok, no toast just rolls! Very limited selection, to a handful of berries and a small plate of cheese and ham & small plate of fresh fruit! The smallest selection I have ever seen! Coffee was very good, extra hot milk, no problem! No replenishing of items so be early! Once we had left the Hotel and moved to our next destination, we knew we could not return to the Sindic for our last two nights, the difference in the 4 star hotel we were at could not be compared to the Sindic! So I emailed the Sindic, stating why we could not return on our last 2 nights, with photos asking for a full refund! I received an email stating that I should have said I wasn’t happy, at the time! I fully agree with that, but due to the dirty shower I felt this unreasonable! They chose not too make a comment on the photos and said they would refund 1 night!! So they accepted there was issues but still were too tight to give us a full refund! There are so many lovely hotels in Mahon that we stayed at, I would advise you to give this one a miss!

Decidiamo all’ultimo minuto per una fuga romantica 💖 a Minorca. Che dire, scelta davvero azzeccata!!! Ambiente intimo , molto accogliente ,personale davvero disponibile e camera caratteristica. Colazione inclusa accurata e ben presentata, in stile piccolo agriturismo nostrano. Location molto comoda ai parcheggi(abbiamo sempre trovato posto gratuito nonostante fosse la settimana di Ferragosto),vicinissima all’aeroporto e nel cuore della vita notturna di Minorca(non aspettatevi Ibiza ma sono presenti diversi localini dove cenare o bersi un drink). La reception ci ha inoltre dotato subito di un ombrellone da spiaggia per goderci le giornate di sole e si è resa disponibile a custodire i nostri bagagli visto l’arrivo in primissima mattinata. Se dovessimo mai tornare a Minorca, alloggeremmo sicuramente di nuovo qui ! Mirko&Lucia

This is an excellent hotel in the heart of Mahon. The staff, rooms and breakfasts were superb. We visited on an exceptionally warm week and the hotel was like a haven when we returned after exploring. The air conditioning was so quiet and very welcome. Well had a great experience in this brilliant hotel made complete by the absolutely wonderful staff. Each and every one of them is a credit to the hotel owners. We highly recommend Bordoy Casa Ladico.

This hotel was booked for us by our travel agent. It’s only 11 minutes from the airport and located near the center of Mahon and the port. There aren’t any beaches in this immediate location so you’ll either need a car, taxi, or excursion to get to beaches if that’s what you’re looking for. If it’s the only thing you’re looking for, stay in another town where beaches are in walking distance. I’d hate for the area to get a bad review because assumptions were made. It’s got it’s own charm and it should be appreciated. Check-in was easy. Don’t fret when you see the sign to enter the reception area. It says hostal, but the reception area is for both the hostal of the building you walk into and the separate hotel rooms you’ll stay in in another building. Our room was on the first floor. It was a good size, clean, with simple decorations. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure strong, and the hot water was HOT. You shouldn’t have an issue relaxing here and getting a good night’s rest. The breakfast was very good and we loved the B&B feel. You had someone serving you breakfast, coffee, etc. It added a nice personal touch. The room was made daily and they did a phenomenal job. There was no safe in the room, but the area is extremely safe and there are cameras in the lobby area. The area is picturesque. Part of its charm is getting lost in the narrow streets and I advise you do. Menorca sticks to its Spanish roots and traditions so expect it to be very quiet after lunch. Some stores and restaurants even close until dinner time which is pretty late (8:00pm). This was the case when we arrived, but it did give us plenty opportunity for pictures without battling tourists for a “good spot”, lol. There isn’t a “nightlife” here in the traditional sense. Your best bet would be near the boardwalk. You’ll want to stay in another town for that which we were told is the “party area”, but after being in Menorca for a few days we learned the island itself is much slower paced and traditional. We appreciated that since we came from Barcelona where it’s much more crowded and busy. Lastly, parking would’ve been tough and we didn’t rent a car. Having a car would’ve probably made things a little easier and cheaper. We had to go to Fornells which is 25 minutes away for our excursion departures. At the time of writing, it was about 35 euros for a trip there and another 30-35 for the trip back. You can make the decision on if you’d benefit from a car, but for us being here a few days it didn’t make the most sense. All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel and ended up enjoying the location, slow pace, and relaxing vibes.

We booked this hotel primarily as it was convenient for a late arrival into Mahon airport. As it turned out the hotel was lovely - nice rooms and the “green room” facility for drinks and snacks was perfect for relaxing after a day around the town or island. Location wise the hotel is a short 5 minute walk from both the bus station (so you could use the bus to get between the airport and hotel depending upon arrival times) and the start of the main shopping area in Mahon, and only about 10 minutes from the harbour area.
