Trip Advisor asks you to rate your experience. This hotel was just as expected and did not let us down in any way so I have given it four stars. However, this is a basic hotel, no frills. Having said this the room was clean, a good bathroom with big walk in shower. (Room 11) There were shelves and an open area for hanging clothes. We did not eat at the hotel because just on the quay front, 2 mins walk away, you could get a great French breakfast. The hotel does not do dinner as there are many excellent cafes and restaurants just around the corner on the quay. There was parking at, and in front of, the hotel. It is a great base for exploring the D-Day beaches and Bayeux.
The Novotel in Bayeux is a good basic hotel. The location is easy to get to and a great base from which to head out and explore. There is more than ample free parking. The rooms are well appointed for the price. There is a nice and clean little swimming pool in the back, and a surprising amount of lawn. Very relaxing. The high point of our stay was definitely the staff. All were friendly, courteous, and very professional. The manager was very responsive when my wife brought up a minor issue. The breakfast is very good, and we were surprised that we didn't have to pay for our 14 year old son. About the only downsides we encountered were the somewhat careworn look of the hotel, and the limited dinner menu. These are minor issues though. Overall I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly return.
We only had one night at this lovely little hotel, but really enjoyed that. Right in the centre of Bayeux, rooms are nicely decorated with a pool (which we didn’t use it being a bit chilly, but some had ventured in. Great choice at the breakfast buffet and a convivial bar. But what we liked best was the staff, they were all delightful, so friendly and welcoming. Was such a lovely place for the evening.
