We stayed here for one night as part of our Japan tour. Unfortunately the key to our traditional ryokan inn room snapped off in the lock as we tried to enter the room and the situation could not be resolved quickly so we were moved to a western style room on the top floor which was very dated and very hot. The AC either was not clearly working properly. Thankfully due to the good offices of our wonderful guide we were offered another smaller room which was a traditional room with futon which we gladly accepted. The view across the lake was stunning. We had a traditional Japanese banquet for dinner which was really interesting. The staff were truly lovely. Our guide commented that the furniture in the dining room had been changed from traditional seating to western furniture recently to accommodate the changing clientele. It was also apparent that there was renovation work ongoing at the time of our visit which made the overall ambience a little chaotic.
