Reception was friendly..I arrived late at 2340..friendly night guy..room was adequate for my needs..Room 9 cold tap handle was missing, but a shsve was possible and teeth with warm water..mattress protector needs a boil wash and new carpet would freshen things. Shower was luke warm but manageable..heating was fine..tv ok..1 night fine;)
Great Apartment hotel, 10 min walk from the city centre, great location surrounded by pubs and shops, tesco is only a 5 min walk making it easy to buy groceries for your apartment. The room was very clean and up to standards, was provided with clean towels, body wash, washing up liquid, bin liners, sponge, toilet roll, hand wash, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, heating.. everything you would expect from a hotel. Note that it is a self catering hotel though so if you are staying for less than 7 nights you will need to get your own things. However I booked for 8 nights and received a free clean halfway through my stay, you will have to ask for this through messages. Always got a quick response when messaging the owner which was great! There is a small garden if you are a smoker with benches so you can sit and chill. The TV is smart so you can watch netflix, amazon prime, YouTube, itv ect or just normal TV which was amazing as I am strictly a amazon prime and netflix girly! The shower has amazing pressure it's literally like you're getting a massage and the bathroom in general feels as though you're in a spa, very modern decor! The only thing I feel could be improved is the temperature of the rooms, especially in winter, I stayed in January and the heating goes to 23° max which I thought was a little low for winter time, especially seeing as the floor is laminate, maybe add a small rug or turn up the heating to 25° so guests can be more comfortable, however I am one of those people who get cold very easy so it may just be me lol! Thank you so much for an amazing stay, will definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.
We went to Colwick Hall for their afternoon tea, ”once home to Lord Byron the great poet himself,” their website says. In fact not so, since he was actually born 128 years after his ancestors sold the place. However, the verses adorning the walls of Byron's Brasserie, plus the cascades of flowers, make the setting memorably pretty. The weakest part of this experience was actually food. There's nothing wrong with it - you get what it says on the tin - but it was regrettably ordinary. The sandwiches were pedestrian and sparsely filled. The high point was the very moreish spiced fruit cake, whilst the low point was the smurf-coloured blob of ”vanilla frosting” on the muffin, which looked like a school bake sale and was flavourless. The cream and jam for the scones were to share one-between-two, and the quantity was just adequate. The little soups looked ready to slide off a precariously angled plate which didn't fit the stand. These problems seemed to emanate from the table being too small for the job. In conclusion, the lovely setting did carry the occasion but there is scope to elevate the food.
ゲゲストI travel all over the country for football away days and stay in most towns for long trips or midweek games. I've been to Nottingham many times but never stayed here. Had no idea there was such a nice hotel literally on the station. It's one of the best independent hotels I've ever been to. Lovely staff, small hotel with only 12 rooms but all large, cosy and very clean. Slept really well even though I had an early train. Really nice bar lounge full of armchairs and vintage nik naks and decorations and drinks very well priced. Pleasantly surprised and will stay again if ever in Nottingham. Location is perfect.
Such friendly and helpful staff! Brenton did a great job of helping us organise our perfect wedding day, finding just the right balance between supporting us and giving us the freedom to make our day just the right amount of relaxed, special and different! The location is just perfect! Absolutely stunning, I knew from the moment I saw it that this was going to be our venue! The fact the chapel, hall and hotel are all in one are just an added bonus. The buffet dinner was lovely with lots of compliments from our guests. Can't recommend Bestwood Lodge enough for any event as a venue
DDixie TWe stayed in the hotel over the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sunday) as we were attending ”The Gloworm Festival” with other family members who were glamping. The room was small, but was perfect for our activity which was get up, get ready, and go out to the festival! We slept like logs as the beds were nice and comfy. Using the bedroom as a base to be located in and to safely store our belongings was perfect. The TV in our room was the size of a postage stamp but who cares, we were at the festival. It fit the bill for our needs so we give it a thumbs up. On leaving we spent a few minutes chatting to a lovely staff member who brought some festive cheer to my mood (I am sorry I did not catch the gent's name but we will call him ”Santa Klaus” for those who know! But what a lovely man to have at the reception desk. Was it the best hotel I have visited, no. Was it the worst, no. But for our weekend it did all we asked for and for all that was needed. A safe warm place to sleep with safe parking and nice staff.
