Beautiful room exceptionally clean. Delightful staff. Rooftop bar very social wonderful bites/snacks eg panda prawns chilli dip, fish gouging etc. We had intended to try the hotel restaurant also on the rooftop overlooking the hillside and port of Funchal and were recommended by a fellow guest of hotel. We went 3 times !! I have eaten all over the world and have never tasted the beef dish as tender literally like a knife thru butter. The desserts just heavenly. I could go on but I think you get the drift. Buffet breakfast perfect and to suit everyone. I am always amazed how much some people can eat first thing in the morning.

arrived in the evening on friday 8th with my mother who is 82 and having treatment for cancer first impression was that the reception area was very small, the room was small ,thought there would be a small kitchen but there was none, no coffee/tea making facilities, no fridge, no iron, thought this was a four star hotel? spoke to manger the next day but told i had booked the double room it was the apartment that had the kitchen, my error, not able to move to another room because hotel was fully booked, no comfy chair in the room for my mother to sit on just 2 hard backed chairs, bathroom door was see through and would not lock kept sliding back, told management on the sunday who advised that maintenance had a day off so was advised to use a towel to keep the door from sliding back. restaurant was small only one staff member to take orders , serve and clean the tables , shout out to leticia who worked very hard, very pleasant lady as were housekeepers , no lounges no where to sit outside , no gardens by this time we decided to return back to england on monday instead of friday , my mother told me she felt she was in a prison, on the day we left we were offered a apartment but we had enough and could not change our plans again, this is not a place for a elderly person , very basic and small , madeira is beautiful and will come again but to a better hotel

We are a couple and stayed for 3 nights in this hotel (May 2022). For a 3-stars hotel, we do love their service during our trip in Funchal, Madeira. There are several restaurants nearby to have lunch and dinner. It is only 10 minutes of walking to the nearest beach. We rented a car for 1 day, and the rent car location was so close from the hotel (5 mins of walking). If you are looking for a budget hotel with great service and good location, you may consider this hotel as an option. I recommend this hotel for you. Pros: 1. Location The location is quite good. From the airport, we took aero bus and paid €8 for a return ticket per person. The aero bus only accept payment in cash. The ride will take us around 30 minutes from the airport to the nearest stop (no.3 Mercado). Then, we walked to the hotel for 10 minutes. You just need to climb up the road after you are in 31 Janeiro street. To walk to the city center l, it will take you less than 10 mins too. 2. Check-in The check-in went smoothly and no problem. After we verified our identification card, the receptionist told us about the wifi, breakfast, and others things. 3. Price We made a reservation through OTA. It was good value of money to stay in this hotel. The breakfast already included in the price for 2 people. 4. Room The room is quite simple, clean, and not so big. We had twin beds with a city view (4th floor). There is a TV, chair, table, cupboard. The bed and pillow are comfortable for me. The bathroom is quite big and it is clean. The standard amenities like soap, shampoo are there. The towels are clean. The hot water and the ac worked perfectly. 5. Breakfast The breakfast is not bad, it exceed our expectations. They have fresh bacons and sausage everyday. The view from the breakfast area was so beautiful. 6. Wifi The wifi is easy to connect and the speed is good from our room. 7. Staff The staffs are quite nice and helpful. The man helped us to get to know a ticket available for Porto Santo. The woman helped us with useful information to take the aero bus to the airport. The staffs for breakfast were nice too. 8. Facilities The hotel has spa, restaurant, rooftop bars. Cons: 1. They should improve the fruits salad on the breakfast. The quality of the fruits could be better.

There are minor problems with these rooms; the beds aren’t that comfortable and the WiFi is erratic, but the pleasantness of the staff, the homeliness and space of the accommodation and the location in the city make it well worth a return visit whenever possible. It is just a very nice place to be. There are good restaurants very close by, the seafront is 200 yards away and the La Vie Shopping Centre just up the road has an excellent supermarket two floors down. Reception staff and cleaners are charming, helpful and efficient
