Superior Sanctuary is a beautiful, updated and spacious townhome, offering 1800 sq ft. and 2 levels to unwind in comfort. This romantic lakeside home overlooks Lake Superior from atop a 25 foot cliff, offering gorgeous views from both levels, two large decks and a truly peaceful setting. A seasonal staircase (approx Memorial Day to Labor Day) provides access to a 600' shared pebble beach for agate hunting on one end of the property, with overlooks, majestic shoreline boulders and ledge rock on the other. Enjoy the large, well-appointed full kitchen with its massive island, corian countertops and new(er) stainless steel appliances. Relax in the cozy recliners around the living room stone fireplace, watching the lake. Listen to the waves from the wonderful master bedroom ensuite, with its gas fireplace, large jacuzzi tub, private bathroom and deck. The charming second bedroom offers 2 twin beds, with another full bathroom across the hall. The main level den, with sliding glass doors, provides another private space for work and a sleep sofa. A third bathroom (half) is next to the den. Streaming TV options and 150+ DVD movies are offered, washer & dryer are next to the bedrooms, and the attached one-car garage provides additional convenience and space! Located between Tofte and Lutsen, and only 20-25 minutes from Grand Marais, the central location provides the perfect base for enjoying all the North Shore has to offer! Beautiful State Parks, world-class hiking, the best skiing in the Midwest (both downhill skiing and cross country), biking (both paved trails and mountain biking), waterfalls, fishing and golf, as well as a variety of wonderful restaurants (7+), live music, shopping, grocery stores and the North Shore Winery are ALL within 5-10 minutes. The Gitchi Gami State Bike Trail runs across the driveway, making it easy to bike or walk for miles, including to the shops, beautiful shoreline and restaurants at Bluefin Bay (3 mi) or Lutsen Resort (4.5 mi), or to Temperance River State Park (5.5 mi). This fabulous townhome features 2 king bedrooms both with en suite full bathrooms, and 1 queen bedroom. Cozy up to the fireplace in the main living room as well as a fireplace in the lakeside master bedroom. Relax in the master bedroom large jetted tub while enjoying the warmth of the master fireplace. Then hang out on the private lakeside deck that is off of the master bedroom. Your comfort is important to us which is why we have name brand mattresses (Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Ethan Allen) so you can rest easy. There is a large deck on the main level as well as a deck off one of the two master bedrooms. The basement has a door so you can walk out and be 50 feet from the lake on the cliff offering amazing views. Enjoy lounging in the main living room with the stone fireplace or the basement is the perfect place to hang out and play games. In the basement you will find a large screen TV, a shuffleboard/bowling game, electric dartboard, and large checker board, as well as a bar table top behind a huge sectional. There is so much to do in this great location, but you won't want to leave the comfort of this amazing property and all it has to offer. There are stairs leading down to a huge beautiful private beach. We provide folding chairs and a small cooler for you to take down to the beach for the day. PLEASE NOTE: the stairs to the beach are removed shortly after Labor Day due to the fall/winter wave and ice action that has caused damage to the stairs in the past. The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever seen that includes extras like a small crockpot, large crockpot, coffee grinder, French press, Keurig K cup and pot coffee maker, stove top espresso maker, and everything else you will need. There is also a gas grill for your grilling needs. With amenities like WiFi, a washing machine, and a jetted bathtub, guests will have everything they need for an enjoyable stay.
