Hello Firstly I’d like to say don’t listen to half these bad reviews . People that say it’s in the middle of no where clearly haven’t done any research prior to booking this hotel , which absolutely baffles me. El Campello and San Juan are a 10 minute cab journey or car if you have one away. Two beautiful beaches for the family or couples to enjoy. There’s a few small shops and bars 5 minute walk from hotel if you want something different. As for the hotel , it’s been updated since we last went , rooms currently still under going refurbs , we had top floor overlooking the pool it was a stunning view every morning and a very spacious room for me and my kids and wife. We have stayed at this hotel twice before and also my parents have had apartments they bought in the bonalba complex. For me personally to not have many English there is bliss I don’t come away on holiday to see English , I like the culture of the Spanish and the fact I try to speak some to which is good. No idea why people say it’s not a clean hotel , there was a cleaner in the toilets every single morning without fail , spotless and the pool area was so clean every time we went down there. Food was a great selection we had full board , every meal we had was brilliant and the staff always stocked up when the buffet got low on food. I will say if you don’t like waiting in queues or waiting in general to be served for drinks at the bar or reception then this isn’t the place for you neither is any of Spain 😂 they are very relaxed people and they take there time and you have to respect that. Overall for me I had a fantastic 8 days got back yesterday , my kids loved it and I will give one more special mention to AMY the animation team , she is outstanding with kids I mean the best I’ve ever seen with them , she is truly gifted, made everyone feel welcome always smiling , loads of energy and she had kids around her all day they were in awe of her , my three children loved her , please show her this review whoever reads this from hotel bonalba , I forgot to say bye to her as couldn’t find her on final day ( just say to her I was the dad of Jenson and Rocco the twins ) from south London she will know who we are , she’s not back until Tuesday night I believe so maybe she could read it then I wish her the best in life ,a superb dancer too. We arrived at the hotel after a friend drove us from Oliva, we were greeted by the most rude obnoxious reception staff, it was really shocking. We checked in, came back down a while later where they attempted to check us in again to a 2nd room (for yhe same amount of people) saying we had booked 2 rooms, we hadn't, they had already taken the charge for the 2nd room. They proceeded to blame *********** for the error. The following morning we attempted to speak to the manager. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and blatant rudeness, I approached him very calmly, asking him to look at the proof we had but he wouldn't, he went on to print out the 2 reservations one we booked on the Friday, and one they had duplicated on the Sunday, he refused to listen or view anything we had and was waving me off dismissively. I realised I was getting nowhere so I walked away, at which point he muttered some rude comment, I just said, the same to you and continued to walk away. The hotel is listed as a 4 star but it isn't. The pool was grubby with bits floating in it. It was run on some days without a pool attendant or poolside hut (listed as a bar) the air conditioning was temperamental and barely worked in the room, was non existent in the lifts which were like smelly ovens, the facilities in the room were 2-3 star basic at best. It wasn't the cleanest but not the worst. The continental breakfast was OK, nothing spectacular but ok for a 3 star. The WiFi, supposedly available thoughout the hotel was not working most of the time, the lifts were out of service frequently. One night i got very little sleep as the lift was clunking all night, we were the first room as you came out of the lift. We notified the staff but nothing was done for several hours. How this hotel has gained a 4 star rating in places us unbelievable as it barely reaches 3 stars and that's being generous. All in all the attitude, lack of amenities and disgustingly rude staff spoiled our holiday completely.
