Oh my god, I randomly stumbled upon this hidden gem of a homestay and it’s an absolute game-changer! It’s just a 5-minute walk from Dali Ancient Town, and getting a taxi to other places is a breeze. Like, transportation here couldn’t be more convenient! The place is straight-up stunning—so peaceful, chic, and seriously, it’s a photographer’s dream! I’m not even joking, you’ll be snapping pics non-stop!!!! Every corner screams Instagram-worthy!!!!!! Did I mention it’s perfect for photo ops???? 😂 And get this—the owner’s got a whole stash of great wine, the service is excellent, and their coffee? Holy moly, it’s mind-blowing! I was so not expecting that. For real, this is hands down the best homestay I’ve ever crashed at. No contest! If you’re heading to Dali, do yourself a favor and BOOK THIS PLACE. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!

Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse, Dali | A poetic stay in a century-old Bai courtyard We’ve just returned from Dali, and the place we keep thinking about most is this hidden gem at the foot of Cangshan Mountain — Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse. Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. 先日、大理のホテルに宿泊したのですが、忘れられない体験となりました。部屋はまさに最高で、広々としていてデザインも素晴らしく、信じられないほど快適でした。部屋からの眺めは息を呑むほど美しく、素晴らしい景色が滞在全体をさらに素晴らしいものにしてくれました。 毎朝提供される朝食は素晴らしく、新鮮で美味しい料理が幅広く揃っていました。アフタヌーンティーも心から満喫しました。日中のリラックスしたひとときにぴったりです。ホテルはアフタヌーンティーに加えて軽食も提供してくれ、特に深夜のクッキーとミルクは、心温まる心遣いで大変気に入りました。 ホテルのスタッフは非常に親切で、どんなリクエストにも快く対応してくれました。ゲストの満足度を最優先に考えていることが伝わってきて、滞在をさらに楽しいものにしてくれました。大理で快適で温かい滞在先をお探しなら、このホテルを強くお勧めします。あらゆる面で期待をはるかに上回る素晴らしいホテルでした。

このホテルは、今回犬と一緒に雲南を旅行した中で一番快適なホテルでした。予約したのは一戸建てのプライベート温泉ヴィラで、文字通り独立した庭付きの一軒家です。建物は庭の中に完全に独立して建っており、庭の壁で隔てられています。引き戸のガラスドアの防音性も良く、プライバシーが非常に保たれています。 ホテルは古城の北門にありますが、敷地内はとても静かで外の観光客に影響されることはありません。緑が多くてとてもきれいで、朝出かけると蒼山を見ることができます。 フロントの女性スタッフの方々は皆サービスが素晴らしく、ハウスキーパーからのWeChatへの返信もほとんどがフロントからで、返信は非常に迅速で、ゲストのリクエストに素早く対応してくれます。 チェックアウトの際に指輪を部屋に忘れてしまい、清掃スタッフの方がすぐにフロントの女性に連絡してくれました。警備員の方がすぐに部屋に取りに行って渡してくれて、大変感謝しています！ 敷地内の温泉は快適でしたが、唯一の欠点はハウスキーピングのサービスについて、よりトレーニングが必要な点です。初日は自分たちでお湯を入れましたが、ハウスキーパーがハウスキーピングのスタッフに頼んで入浴剤、バスソルト、お菓子、飲み物、タオルを持ってきてくれました。2日目、温泉に入る前にハウスキーピングのスタッフがお湯を入れてすぐに立ち去ろうとしたので、入浴用のものが用意されていないのかと尋ねると、彼女は「お使いになりますか」とまさかの返答でした。呆れてしまいました。次に、温泉用のタオルはどこかと尋ねると、彼女は「バスルームにタオルがあるじゃないですか、そちらから持ってきて使ってください」と言いました。なぜそんなに急いで帰りたかったのか分かりませんが、もし犬を怖がっているのだとしたら、私の犬は部屋に閉じ込めていたので、全く彼女に影響を与えることはありませんでした。

One thing that immediately stood out — the hotel sits within a private estate, meaning random visitors and public cars can’t just wander in. That alone makes a huge difference. It feels exclusive, quiet, and refreshingly uncrowded throughout the stay. And don’t let “private estate” fool you into thinking it’s quiet in a boring way. The compound is packed with restaurants, bars, and attractions to keep everyone entertained. We genuinely loved that balance of exclusivity without sacrificing things to do. The room was a highlight on its own — a huge slide and a dedicated kids’ bed that our little ones absolutely went crazy for. And the bathtub positioned right by the window? Stunning bay views while you soak. Hard to beat that. Free breakfast and tea break are included, and while it’s nothing over the top, the breakfast spread has solid variety and covers all the bases nicely. Lastly, make time for the rooftop. The decor, the bay views, the whole setup — every single photo comes out great. It’s that kind of spot. Highly recommended!

2nd time stay at the hotel. The hotel's location and cost-effectiveness are big big plus. The hotel staff is very helpful and with great service mind. Location: in a small alley just a bit away from the mainstreet and entrance to the Old Town. So guests can enjoy the proximity to main attractions without a lot of noise from the street. It is also convenient to get taxi (than living right inside the old town where cars are not allowed inside.) The North Gate market is also near (10-minute walk) Rooms: relatively new with smart control (door lock, toilet, TV, air conditioning). Room size is quite small but quite ok for the price. Rooms are clean without smell.. The only minus might be weak noise protection. So if your neighbours are noisy, you might need earplugs. But apart from that nothing to complain.

観光地の喧騒にうんざりしていたので、あえてこの山岳ラグジュアリー民宿を選びました。環境は静かで落ち着いており、窓の外には豊かな緑が広がり、開放的で心地よい景色です。中和村までは徒歩圏内で、生活に必要な施設はすべて揃っており、車での利用には無料駐車場があるので交通の便も良いです。部屋は広々としていて、オーディオビジュアル設備やスマートデバイスも充実しており、衛生面も完璧で死角がありません。オーナーのサービスは温かくきめ細やかで、ヨガで旅の疲れを癒すこともできます。設備が充実しており、滞在の雰囲気は最高です。

ヴィラに一人で泊まりましたが、本当にリラックスできる場所でした。ホテルの温泉プールもあって、とても禅的で日本的な雰囲気でした。

部屋はとても清潔で、サービスも素晴らしく、中庭も美しく、リラックスに最適な背中のマッサージまで提供してくれました。子供たちも大喜びで、ぜひまた泊まりたいと思います。
