Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. アン・ユーは、自然で質感のある木材を使った素朴な内装がそのまま残されています。サービスも非常に良く、特に荷物を運んでくれた若い男性は素晴らしかったです。唯一の難点は、ランドリーサービス用の洗濯袋がなかったため、多くの宿泊客が衣類を直接洗濯機や乾燥機に入れられなかったこと、シャワーエリアから乾燥エリアに水が簡単に漏れてしまったこと、そしてテレビでワールドカップの生中継が見られなかったことです。

ホテルは古城の南門近くに位置しており、古城の中心部（人民路、洋人街など）までは徒歩わずか10分強です。古城内の喧騒を完璧に避けつつ、すぐに古城の活気ある雰囲気に溶け込めるため、出入りが非常に便利です。 周辺にはコンビニエンスストアや小さなレストランがたくさんあり、タクシーも簡単に見つかるため、生活に便利です。 客室数はそれほど多くありませんが、フロントスタッフは複数の業務を兼任しており、非常に多忙なようです。常に分刻みのスケジュールで動いているのを見ると、大変そうだと感じます。 このホテルは、古城の隣という絶好のロケーションにあり、コストパフォーマンスも高く、人情味あふれるサービスが魅力の質の高いホテルです。 大理を訪れる観光客で、静かに休みながらも古城を便利に散策したい方にとって、ここは非常に理想的な選択肢となるでしょう。

Staying at this hotel in Dali is like stepping into a live Chinese ink painting! The architectural design is a masterpiece - the moon shaped grey brick and wooden arches frame the golden ginkgo trees and their reflections in the water so beautifully, every corner is Instagram gold. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the tranquil garden vibe makes you forget all city chaos. Apart from the helpful and attentive staff, what truly stands out is the attention to detail in every element, from the traditional tiles to the serene water features. If you’re into authentic Chinese aesthetics and a peaceful retreat, this hidden gem in Dali is a must-stay. Trust me, it’s way more than just a hotel, it’s an immersive cultural experience!

True that the place is instagram worthy but because it's already five years old some of the facilities do look aged. Location wise is close to the main food street so very walkable, yet remains pretty quiet at night. Be careful with the complimentary photographary as the additional photos were charged to us were an additional 50 rmb each which I felt were abit steep. Staff mostly friendly but dong expect too much. Expect 4* level service not a true 5* by china standards.

Great location—tucked right in the heart of the bustling 古城, yet surprisingly quiet and peaceful inside. Once again, excellent service from 即下山—consistent, warm, and reliable. You’ve definitely gained a new fan! That said, the 古城 property feels a bit like the forgotten child of the brand. The fixtures are showing their age and could really use a refresh to match the charm and quality of the experience elsewhere.

Thank you very much for your warm hospitality during our four-night stay. We truly had a wonderful time here. Although we stayed at many five-star hotels during this trip, we still feel that this has been the best accommodation experience so far. We made quite a few troublesome requests during our stay, yet you fulfilled all of them without hesitation. We are sincerely grateful for that. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends, and we will certainly come back again if we have the opportunity in the future! They were also very nice enough to pick us at the train station when we reached dali from lijiang and drop us at the train station again to catch the train to kun ming FOC! Highly recommend this stay to anyone who is looking to come to Dali!
