The Squirrels Nest is a quaint, historic log cabin overlooking the James River in Buchanan, Virginia. It is available as a vacation rental with a two (2) night minimum stay. There are three bedrooms and two baths and can accommodate up to six (6) guests. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and Bedroom 3 has two twin beds. The Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a large flat screen TV in the living room. Covered picnic area at the rear of the property overlooking the river and Town of Buchanan. The Squirrels Nest is located near many local attractions that are within walking distance such as Antiques shopping, the swinging bridge, fishing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking on the James River. Other attractions not too far away include The Natural Bridge, Safari Park, and Zoo. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and numerous hiking or biking trails. The historic home features five bedrooms, three of which have a private bath. A library with a daybed and a pullout/popup trundle is also featured. As well as an additional full and a half bath. Private baths are located in the two king size rooms as well as one of the queen rooms. The dining area can seat up to 18 people. And you will find a coffee bar on both levels of the home. The home is equipped with high speed internet as well as three smart TVs. This is a working small beef operation, we check our cattle daily, and feed as necessary. Amazing handcrafted cabin located in the center of the "Roanoke triple crown" (McAfee's Knob, tinker cliffs and dragons tooth trails) just minutes from each trail head. Cabin is tucked away from everything. No other houses can be seen from the cabin. The cabin features two queen beds, and a futon. The cabin overlooks a beautiful pond filled with trout that you can feed, with a small waterfall cascading in. Cabin was sustainability built with trees from the 20 acres it sits on.
