The hotel location was good, very near town centre and close by to a multiple levels car park with electric car charging options, 24 hours was only £9.00. Food menu wasn’t big but nice food overall.
Booked for the suite as we were a group of 4. The room provided us all the things we needed, microwave, fridge, plates, utensils. The only drawback is that we got the room on 4th floor and there was no elevator!
Our stay was lovely. We liked the novel idea of staying in someplace that is technically a castle. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. They didn't offer the info to us when we arrived, but we ended up walking ourselves around the hotel and found the reception desk person giving another couple a tour of the hotel and telling them the history -- I'd have been disappointed to have missed this, but I'm glad we got the info regardless that it wasn't offered to us. Had dinner and drinks in the Green Lady Lounge which was nice and had good food.
The compact room I stayed in was lovely. Comfortable, clean and warm. The staff is attentive and informative. The location is outstanding as everything is within a walking distance. The hotel is surrounded by coffee shops, bars, restaurants and grocery shops. Next year I would definitely stay here again.
Had a lovely stay in a superior room with lovely views out to the Firth. The rooms were a little bit jaded but clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.

ゲゲストLots to love but room for a few improvements.
The biggest is the doors on the rooms. They are heavy wooden doors and slam really loud. As you can imagine that’s quite annoying when people go in and out waking people up
Bathroom door rotten at bottom from damp, needs replaced, looks awful.
Cleaning under sinks and taps in bathrooms, the things you see when you sit in the bath!!
Painting of the room could be a bit tidier, white paint all over grey radiator pipes.
Cleaners could be a bit more gentler when hoovering, they batter the radiator pipes in the rooms and it vibrates to the room your in , next door!
Out of stock of some flavours for cocktails, young staff seen with mobile phones very casually. Move out of sight, the customer / service are important
Food is expensive for the quality you get too
ゲゲストReally great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.
ゲゲストLovely staff lovely hotel, shame about having to appeal for my parking fees, especially after filling in the appropriate details into the parking system….
TTAK LONCheck in deadline is 10:30pm, but received multiple phone call of asking arrival time at 10pm even after telling them I am just 3 minutes away and driving during the first phone call. Apparently they just want to off work earlier. Not recommended if you plan to arrive at late night.
ゲゲストWe stayed at 5 star Dornoch Station on. B & B basis for 1 night. The room was good the receptionist and bar staff were all good. However, the breakfast was horrendous. Totally shambolic, we were served Luke warm coffee from a flask, my wife ordered porridge with honey only, without the accompanying raspberry compote and almonds. After a long wait a full porridge with everything was delivered - which my wife didn’t want and couldn’t eat. I ordered a poached egg on toast which looked good when it finally arrived. First bite I had to spit out onto the plate. Full of egg shell, not just an odd piece, but a mouthful of them. We were offered replacements, which we politely declined and immediately checked out of the hotel to find somewhere else decent to have breakfast. This is the first time I’ve ever experienced this issue - very dissapointing and not acceptable from a so-called 5 star establishment.
