Overall Experience:
This hotel offers exceptionally thoughtful service. Every staff member, from the front desk to those in the restaurant and bar, is incredibly patient and attentive. A highlight was when we got lost in Livingston at night due to unfamiliarity with the area. The front desk staff went above and beyond by driving to the bus stop to pick us up—we were truly touched by their kindness!
Areas for Improvement:
The main drawback is the hotel’s location, which isn’t easy to find. While driving makes access much simpler, the nearest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away, requiring a route through a bridge tunnel (avoiding the main road). This makes transportation less convenient for non-drivers.
Despite the location challenge, the outstanding service makes this hotel worth considering for those seeking warmth and hospitality.
Ok for one night but not a lot of space and bathroom needs loads of upgrading…clean enough but not well ventilated as really stuffy with no fan and due to the airplanes flying over it’s very noisy but service was top notch
Lovely location, beautiful little village and 10-15 minute walk to train station for the 15 minute ride into central Edinburgh. Good breakfast and bar with a glorious fireplace in the reception. Swimming pool/spa area is also a treat especially in winter. WiFi could be doing with an upgrade.
