The owners describe The Traddock as a work in progress, by which I guess they mean there are always improvements to be made. But I think they do themselves a dis-service, because the place is comfy, welcoming, the service is great, and the location is lovely, for sightseeing, walking, or reaching out to the Lake District for a day. We had a beautiful second-floor room with terrific views, and, be aware, the stairs are quite challenging. Food and Bev quality is good - our Sunday and Monday stay meant we missed the evening Tasting Menu, but that’s fine for us! Breakfast was fine, (apart from rather poor porridge), and the public rooms are nicely cosy and relaxing. The garden is also a lovely open space with great views. No reason at all to mark The Traddock down, we would definitely return.
