「We had a bit of a disappointing experience at the Jiatu Scenic Hotel. The room listing states ‘lake view’ so we booked that room, however, it turns out that this room does not face the lake and has an internal car par window instead. The listing photos conveniently have the net curtains of the windows drawn so you can’t see this from the inside photos. The receptionist insisted the Trip.com listing was accurate because the hotel was near the lake and therefore a ‘lake view’. They would not change us to a room with the lake view that we believed we booked, despite having multiple lake-view rooms available and us checking in at 10.30pm. They insisted the only way we could change the room was to cancel our booking (and incur a 50% cancellation fee) and rebook the more expensive ‘sea-view’ room instead. We contacted Trip.com who spoke to the hotel also but they were unwilling to help or move us, despite the room not matching the listing description. Trip themselves were very helpful and offered us some compensation. In the end we stayed in the room we’d booked with no lake view. The room itself was lovely and spacious, had storage options and was clean and tidy. If we’d booked knowing this didn’t have a lake view then it would have been perfect! The location is near the station which is great if you’re there for one night, however we were there for 2 nights and had to travel 40 minutes to get to Dali Old Town or the 28 bends ecological corridor, so personally if I were to come to Dali again I would choose a hotel in that location instead. It is worth noting that the hotel is across the road from the lake, so you can see cars and the road even in the lakeside view rooms.」

「The hotel is centrally located, and the staff are very nice—they even arranged a railway station pick-up for us. The room was very clean, with a great view facing Erhai and the Olympic Stadium. Breakfast was delicious, the hotel washing machine was incredibly convenient, and the lobby is huge and elegant. I will definitely come back if I visit Dali again!」

「There are two rooms with two attached bathroom, it's super comfy, just feel like at home. The service provided are exceptional and superb, they are very nice and helpful. However, the location is slightly far as it's located near the north gate, but except that everything is perfect!」

「I love this hotel, the location is top tier near the shopping places in Dali Ancient Town, you can explore without any worries + halal food is nearby too (estimate around 300m away) and the receptionist is also very friendly too! Although I can’t speak mandarin, she tries her best to recommend places for us and we chat via wechat easily. The cons of this place is that, no DiDi can pick/drop you directly in front of the hotel. You need to walk to the nearest Gate and only can book the DiDi then. Plus, make sure you check the maps properly cause we went to routes with many stairs, very tiring!」

「今回泊まった部屋は本当に期待を超えました!全体が優しい丸太のシンプルなスタイルで、配色は清潔でさわやかです。特大の窓は自然光を十分に引き出します。窓の横には専用のレジャーエリアが作られています。ふたつまみの小さなテーブルと布団があり、座って景色を眺めながらお茶を淹れます。旅の疲れは一瞬で消えます。 部屋の衛生状態は非常に細心の注意を払っており、床、寝具、カウンタートップは清潔で無臭で、ベッドサイドにはやかんと飲料水が親密に用意されており、インフラは完全で使いやすいです。全体的な環境は静かで快適で、雰囲気はいっぱいです。一人でリラックスしたり、一緒に滞在したりするのに適しています。次回はこれを選びます!」
