「Having visited this hotel many times over the years, we were looking forward to return. We opted to pay for the upgrade to our room to a suite. The furnishings are tired, the dressing table worn and the curtains do not actually shut out all the light as they do not go far enough along beside the wardrobe. The food was average, service was slow and mistakes were made to the point our desserts were given for free on our last evening. When checking out I also feel we were carefully asked if everything was ok upstairs meaning our room - not asked about our stay etc. It's really disappointing as it has been a favourite place for our family to visit but I doubt we would return. The brie starter said it had oatmeal coating - it was not oatmeal. The venison was overcooked and very sweet. The chicken caesar salad i couldn't eat the meat - it was so peppery and spiced with cajun - not described on the menu.」
