Spent 1 night here and was pleasantly upgraded to a lovely room. Didn't stay long enough to use all the amenities. Excellent buffet breakfast to set you up for the day. This is an old building, full of character and in places, it's age beginning to show. Though perfectly clean, starting to look a bit tired. Lets put it this way, wouldn't suit those pedantic ****** in '4 in a Bed' Excellent location, just off the A1 but set in a beautiful rural location. Would I stay again? YES.

Ideal for a stop off on our way south from Scotland to London. Hotel has character and the room booked was super with a nice bathroom including spa bath. The spa facilities were really good too with pool, decent hot sauna and steam room. Only let-down was dinner. I’d like to meet the chef that puts his name to the ‘signature’ burger - it just wasn’t very good at all. Breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was really quite good. Will stay again.
