Recently been touring the Holy Land and stayed in this very ordinary hotel. The party were there for 4 nights while in Jerusalem. The rooms are ordinary but we’re tired and needed some TLC. The breakfast and dinner buffets were good and offered a fair variety to meet ordinary needs bu5 it did not sparkle. The internet was reasonable and did the business. In the basement was a group of shops. I used the coffee house as the hotel coffee was nothing special. The hotel was noisy as it seemed full with runners for the Marathon as well as other touring groups. Staff were mixed. Some were very helpful, others seemed to treat guests as nuisance. They should work on there welcome. Yes the hotel is ordinary in need of a make over if it wants to improve its reputation.
We did not like the other hotel. We stayed for 2 nights. and we asked for a change of hotel. After coming to this hotel, we realized that this country is bad in hotel management. And very bad. There is great arrogance. They do not care about customer satisfaction. just money and power. They attach importance to this. I guess the people here are rich. It seems like he doesn't need to work. You should choose the hotel in Israel very carefully and carefully. Or you should rent a house for the day
7770gittylOnce again the David Citadel lived up to all expectations from the comfort of the rooms, the graciousness and courteousness, to the food and the ambiance. A special shout out to Manuel Arbid who continues to be an outstanding director of guest relations. He takes care of each hotel guest as they are personal friends and for some as family.
Really wonderful hosts, beautiful outdoor area, great for families- it’s a sin to stay here and not take the 5 minute walk to the first station. The ONLY issue is that I tried to reach someone before I arrived and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone by phone. Other than that, was great and I’d come back!
SSim EI loved staying here. Fabulous location and the staff are so helpful. The market is across the road (and so are lots of other fab shops), but with my apartment overlooking the back lane, I had total privacy and quiet, which I loved. And I had a BATHTUB! Big deal for me and one I made use of! And the kitchen allows you to eat in when you want - Shabbat included. I am going back at the end of my Israel visit - which I guess is the best recommendation possible. Suggestions for improvement are very few: 1) Supply a bathplug. Saves me buying one. 2) Get the stains off the bathtubs - they look dirty but are not and I know because I scrubbed them!) 3) Jerusalem is cooler than the rest of Israel so I would really love a fan so I don't have to use aircon (cheaper for you - but I know it's not for everyone). And 4) icecube tray in freezer.
If someone is so unhappy to stay in this hotel, be warned to expect nothing at all from the staff. My checkin was accomplished by a girl in a steady bad mood; asked about finding some restaurant nearby she just showed me the door and told me to walk around. There was no water in my fridge, hence I called room service to order 2 bottles costing ILS 20 each. Only one was fetched but before bringing the second I had to pay, in cash, in advance. A ILS 50 was produced by me and the guy told me to wait for the order and the change. Another guy brought the water and was just leaving when I asked about the change. He said that no change was owed and a tough argument took place taking more than half an hour to be solved. Communicated about the issue the bad tempered recepcionist just heard as it seemed routine. During breakfast the guy in charge with the eggs was frying omelettes talking through mobile phone with no breake and paying no attention to the hosts orders. It looks like all the staff is aloof with hosts needs and rudness is the rule. If one doesn't care about being treated like dirt, that's the right place
Checked in late, and went to bed half asleep without noticing what I am getting into. The next morning I woke up to see bed bugs everywhere, and dry blood stains on sheet and pillows as in pictures, indicating sheets were not changed that day for me as a new guest. It was simply disgusting and ugly and health threatening. Consulted an expert on the subject and he strongly advised that I should throw away all my clothes, bag, suitcase,, everything I had in that room otherwise bugs eggs could spread in my house after I return, which would be hard to get rid off.. and I did exactly that. Threw everything,,, clothes of brand names. I have been stressed from the experience and had so much nightmares. Asked the hotel to compensate me for my belongings and pain. But no one is responding. GM read my messages but says little. It was my worst hotel experience ever. Even considering going to court.
ゲゲストO my God... where do I begin?... The hospitality & love the staff shows is apart from anything I've experienced in Jerusalem! It is the.most moderately priced hotel (yay for that!), but the breakfast you get is nutritious & vast enough, the mint teas or coffees you can pour yourself throughout the day are a very special touch, and if you need a pick-me up lunch or dinner they make that available to you, too, with no hassle just love, and it's delicious! They renovated the 3rd floor, which is really special with marble floors, a big TV screens and very nice rooms! Lower floors are less expensive & modest, but they're all you need when you're on a pilgrammage, and was perfect for me! Also... this is the clincher: you begin the Walk of Jesus from this very point to the Garden of Gethsemane along Palm Sunday Road, then through Lion's Gate and Via Dolorosa to the very, very Church of the Holy Sepulchre! And this, you must walk for the full experience or you're seriously short-changing yourself! - Which means, you should be based at this hotel! The best upscale & quaint restaurant & cafe is right beside the Hotel and everyone says they ate the ery best shewarma of their lives here! Also... another clincher: the Mount of Olives Hotel is right beside the Ascension rock from whence Jesus ascended! A must visit! Orthodox churches & monasteries are all around the Hotel so again, a perfect choice for Orthodox Christians, and remember, you can walk to Old Town Jerusalem from here or take a local bus! And you have the best wide angle view of Jerusalem from the Lookout Point, overlooking the Dome of the Rock & the Golden Gate! And on a personal note: someone stole my iPhone from the OldCity, so I had to ask staffers umpteen times to use their mobile phones for whatsapp communications with my security advisor, and they were always obliging, understanding patient & compassionate! They just have a whole lotta' love! I will never forget them, and will base my future groups here! They got My Vote! Best & God Bless! xo~A Angelina of Jerusalem
