The hotel is in a great location which only few mins walking from train station and the Main Street of Greymouth. It’s clean and comfortable. The staffs are nice and friendly.
Fridge and kitchenette was shared in corridor outside room. We booked a family room and was a double and two singles and private bathroom. Was no photos available at the time so had not realised there was no sitting / kitchen space - but fine for one night driving through and bar / restaurant was open. Tea and coffee available in rooms.
The hotel is modern, well furnished and well maintained. The rooms are not large but it was certainly adequate for a single traveler. I had already eaten by the time I arrived but the menu looked very comprehensive and I noticed that the restaurant was well patronised. The only drawback for me was that the hotel has no lifts, which seems strange for a modern building. At my age it is always a struggle to manage hauling baggage up stairs but staff are always willing to assist. The location, as the name suggests it right on the beachfront.all in all, a very pleasant stay.
We had been advised by a relative that this hotel on the beach was worth staying at. We had a deluxe room up on the hill across the main road so we were not actually on the beach. However the view of the ocean was fantastic particularly in the stormy weather. Due to the weather we had to drive down to the restaurant for breakfast. Restaurant fully booked out by tour groups for dinner but the tavern about 1.5km down the road saw us right for a meal. The complex seemed to have several different standards of rooms and I think ours was the best.
Lovely small hotel with a number of cottages. The owner offered a group tour to see glow worms at night. We then had a wonderful dinner at Betsy Jane, highly recommended
Got in late and left early. Met by the very friendly owner and shown to my room and the features were well explained.
The room was spacious, clean, well appointed and the bed very comfortable.
In spite of the motel being on the main road and me being in the room closest to the road I noticed little or no traffic noise.

ゲゲストWe arrived around 9pm ish and the property was quite dark. The reception desk had a note stick on the door indicating our room assignment. We had booked 2 rooms, but unfortunately, both had bugs (moths) in them.
Since we arrived late, there were no open stores or restaurants nearby, not even a convenience store. We found a nearby bar online that was advertised as being open until 1am, but when we called, they informed us they were closing early due to a quiet night. However, they were kind and prepared some chips, samosas and spring rolls for us, which we appreciated as it was our only option for dinner.
For future guests arriving late, I highly recommend advising them to purchase food in advance.

ゲゲストThe male receptionist who greeted us was not particularly friendly; and only when we got to our first floor room did we read about a luggage service. The room was tastefully furnished and clean, and other staff we interacted with were friendly. However the biggest issue is that the walls between rooms are are paper thin so we could hear people next door and doors banging. This woke us up early on both nights we stayed. If you stay - bring ear plugs. There was a lounge with a bar - the bar was permanently closed so there was no where to get a hot or cold drink unless you went to a cafe down the road.
CCitizen of The World - Veni, Vidi, ViciOur rooms have a breathtaking view of Franz Josef. The staff was friendly and helpful. The premise has no lift, but the staff was ready to assist with our luggage as we were on the second floor. Breakfast was excellent in a restaurant with a view. Highly recommended.
