「Rating: 4/5 Fatboys Resort is a beautiful place with many qualities. My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The view from the resort is fantastic, the food was very good throughout my stay, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Housekeeping also did an excellent job. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that my expectations were probably too high. Before arriving, I had understood that Fatboys was one of the best-known resorts in the Solomon Islands, so I expected a white sandy beach and an excellent swimming area right at the resort. That is not really the case. You can visit beautiful white-sand beaches and nice swimming spots on boat trips, but these excursions are quite expensive and, in my experience, felt rather rushed. I often had the impression that the boat drivers were eager to finish the trip and return home. I also asked several times to be taken to good snorkeling locations, but despite my requests, I never found a site that I would consider truly outstanding for snorkeling. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay thanks to the comfortable accommodation, the excellent food, the stunning views, and the wonderful staff. I would recommend Fatboys to travelers who want a peaceful island experience, but I also suggest checking carefully what activities and beaches are available before booking, so your expectations match the reality.」
