Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property.

ゲストLankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming.
The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection.
The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals.
One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience.
Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind.

ゲストWat een top verblijf hebben wij gehad! Vanaf begin tot eind was alles perfect geregeld.
Om te beginnen het personeel was echt uitmuntend. Ze deden alles voor je wat ze konden waren altijd beleefd en als ze niet met ons bezig waren, waren ze wel bezig met het verblijf schoon te maken.
Het eten was echt heerlijk alles was vers gemaakt en smaakte super goed! Ook met onze ochtend safari hebben ze voor een top ontbijt gezorgd
De locatie is helemaal top in 30 minuten ben je bij Yala national park, je kan naar het dorpje met een tuktuk maar wij vonden het juist heerlijk om buiten de safari’s bij het hotel te zijn. Ht zwembad was genieten en ontspannen.
Het is dat we niet meer sterren kunnen geven want dit verdienen ze echt!e

This hotel is located in a remote area, which turned out to be a huge advantage. The peaceful surroundings allowed us to completely unwind without any distractions — it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.
Right from the start, we were treated to a lovely surprise: a room upgrade with a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic.
The food was a highlight — beautifully flavored local dishes with a creative twist. Knowing that everything was sourced sustainably from local farmers made the experience even more meaningful.
What really stood out was the hospitality. During my stay, I sprained my ankle, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. A special thank you to Lakshitha, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my recovery.
This is a place where nature, comfort, and genuine care come together. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and experience authentic Sri Lankan warmth.

ゲストWe had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

In generale l’hotel necessita di una manutenzione globale.
Spazi comuni poco riguardati.
Camera pulita ma al nostro arrivo la doccia non funzionava e l’acqua calda non era presente. Hanno mandato un tecnico che ha risolto il problema anche se l’acqua calda era comunque al massimo tiepida.
Colazione insufficiente.
Posizione ottima: mare con accesso dall’hotel e molti ristoranti nei dintorni.
