There were many issues with our stay that we wanted to mention. We wrote that we would return to the hotel, but only on the basis of if these issues were corrected and probably only in a few years considering they would take time to do so. The majority of the problems we encountered revolved around our room and the food. We specifically chose this hotel for its advertisements of vegan friendly food options, as this is an important point for us when travelling. Unfortunately, the vegan food offering at the buffet was not the best. The vegan food corner was appreciated, however the vegan food often included things like “no lactose milk”, inedible seitan or for example something on the menu saying it was vegan, but then included egg. There were also many other things at the buffet that did not mention having milk in it, but then it did. Regarding our room, we had the cleaning person walk in twice on two separate days without knocking and waiting. Then, when we would leave the room and put the sign to have it cleaned, we would return back and the room had not been cleaned. We had to go to the front desk two days in a row after waiting until 3pm and our room was still not cleaned. After it did get cleaned, on both days they did not clean the coffee machine or coffee cups and left them there dirty (see photos). Another point was the bedsheet, our bed sheet was two twin size bedsheets thrown onto a larger bed, so it was very uncomfortable to sleep together. The rooms in general need maintenance, we could not close the bathroom door without it making a loud noise and waking up our 5 month old daughter each time. The screen door that opens onto the terrace was also ripped and not installed properly. Someone else’s shoes were left in the room in the cupboard. The hotel screen printing on the glass shower door was ripped off, making it look old and used. Lastly, check out took almost an hour because we had to take a number and wait for it to be called. This did not feel like a hotel and more like a doctors office or a meat store. On the other hand, we did very much appreciate the details offered for our honeymoon, the elevator down to the beach and the service of the wait staff in the restaurants and buffet. We hope the hotel can improve on the above mentioned points as it really has a lot of potential.
