Our chalet is brand new with beautifully crafted details and furniture, made locally. There is plenty of space for family or friend’s looking to spend time together, but also enough privacy to get in some quiet time. Please enjoy the entire chalet and property during your stay, we do not rent individual rooms. On the main floor are three bedrooms with private full baths, 2 Queens and 1 Full. Our kitchen is stocked with all the essentials, just bring your own food and spices! Enjoy a family style meal at the beautifully crafted dining table with seating for 10+ people. Relax in the living room around the gas fireplace or in front of the 55" curved TV to enjoy your favorite shows. The chalet’s Loft area offers privacy and blocks sound from the main floor. At the edge of a wildflower meadow with mountain views, this beautifully furnished glamping tent has a king-size water bed, daybed, screened front porch and rear deck. Each tent has a kitchenette in the Lodge. There is a sweet new Bath House. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires, star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below. We have four glamping tents, Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Bernice and Glamp Thomas which are spaciously set apart for privacy yet an easy walk to the Bath House and the Lodge where each glamping tent has its own kitchenette. The tents have a “fly” over them so they stay remarkably cool during the day and completely waterproof. At night, zip up the canvas windows and doors, and stay cozy under handmade feather quilts. The new Bath House has a women’s side with two toilets, a shower and double vanity with glass vessel sinks; ditto for the men’s side. In the nearby Lodge, there is also a lovely new bathroom with an old-fashion claw foot tub where you can enjoy a deep bath with lavender salts. We provide nice towels and soap. In the Lodge, there are individual kitchenettes for each of our four glamping tents. It has a sink, one burner cooktop, coffee maker, compact refrigerator, dishes, cutting board, glasses, utensils, napkins and basics of salt, pepper, sugar. Bring your own coffee and cream. There are open shelves for you to store your groceries. Outside are several charcoal grills and a gas grill. We provide charcoal and lighter fluid. We spent the fall and winter of 2019 building an amazing all natural cedar hot tub. Located on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our new Japanese wood hot tub is a delightful treat for our guests. Built within a small post and beam temple-like structure with gorgeous views of the mountains beyond and wildflowers below, our spa tub is a wonderful way to relax during your stay. $25 for an hour’s retreat of happiness. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. Starting at 6:30 and ending at 7:00, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! And if you don't have toppings, we have plenty! At dusk, we get the bonfire going so guests can relax in hand-built Adirondack chairs to watch the fire and the stars. There is no “light pollution” so it is an amazing experience to see thousands of stars, night clouds, moonscapes. Enjoy getting your breakfast eggs from the henhouse. Our flock of chickens and ducks are fun to watch as they free range all over the property. The ducklings enjoy it when there is fresh water run into their little swimming pool --- they are so joyous when they’re in water. The ducks are sweet but shy away from people (oh no! humans!). Unlike the chickens that wander all day and come back together to the coop only to sleep, the ducks are co-dependent and stick together all the time; if one duck is separated, they all quack until they get back together. So yes, country life can be noisy with the chickens cackling and the ducks quacking! And of course there is lab dog Bella who enjoys visiting all our guests. Be careful coming down the driveway because she sometimes leaps unexpectedly in front of cars all goofy and happy. Our cabins are set up for visiting dogs, but unfortunately we cannot host dogs in the tents. SAUNA: Gorgeous cedar sauna just built this year! Available for private booking experience for $30 for one lovely hour. Sauna can be booked at NorthRiverHobbyFarm.com. Ice cold shower outside to cool off. FLOWERS: Buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers to enjoy during your stay, or to take home with you! Flowers are available at the Bakery for purchase. GOLF CARTS: We have golf carts to rent! Our property stretches over 40 acres. While many guests enjoy exploring our property on foot, others prefer to tour in one of our pretty golf carts. Everything is made from scratch in our “cottage home kitchen” --- located at the Shop at the main compound. The Bakery is the first building on your left as you come down the driveway. The lake is three miles down the winding road …13th Lake it is called and it is just beautiful. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby. The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places. Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River.
