Rather disappointing.  A fabulous location and architectural building now offering overpriced food and wine in a tired hotel looking like it might have been in the 1970s.  Filled with coach trip parties and staffed by Asians and East Europeans, it was disappointing not to find a real Scottish welcome in such a magical building.  Food was exorbitant! Over £250 for an ordinary / disappointing 3 course meal with a bottle of wine for the pair of us.  Such a shame.

After getting into our room we discovered it was an over the bath shower which was not suitable for myself, staff were very helpful and arranged another room for us with a walk in shower. Swimming pool was lovely, however, due to the ladies changing rooms being out of order there was only one disabled toilet being used as a female changing area. As it was also a wet room the floor was extremely wet making it difficult to get changed.

On arrival we were allocated a very small, went back to reception and this was sorted. My gripe is the now £10.00 per day parking charge. However you can park elsewhere for free. This will now make choosing the Angus hotel as not a first option as the main reason for going is the spa facilities unfortunately they are now getting tired and in need of TLC as is the hotel.

Great little hotel in the very middle of nowhere. Limited options for food but breakfast was ok. All staff very friendly including at the spa. The spa is a little basic but nice enough.

This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be our last. Everything about our one night stay was perfect. The castle room was so comfortable, the spa was a delight and the Sandeman restaurant was a treat. The staff were beyond helpful and the surroundings were breathtaking. A very special stay in a special hotel.

The staff was more than great. Super friendly service and great logistic help.
