*Review: One-Night Stay at Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata* I recently stayed for one night at the Kenilworth Hotel in Kolkata and would rate my overall experience as a 6 out of 10. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially in terms of its location and general ambiance, but there are also a few aspects that could use improvement. To begin with the positives, the hotel is situated in a very convenient and well-connected area. Being close to central Kolkata, it’s easy to access various parts of the city, whether for business or leisure. The immediate surroundings are pleasant and relatively peaceful, which added to the comfort of the stay. The room provided was decent—clean, well-organized, and equipped with the expected amenities for a four-star property. The bed was comfortable, and the room had adequate lighting and storage space. The bathroom was functional and clean, although not particularly luxurious. In terms of comfort and upkeep, the room met my expectations. One feature I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s gym facility. It was clean, well-maintained, and had a decent range of equipment for a quick workout. For a short stay, it was more than sufficient and a welcome amenity for anyone looking to stay active while traveling. However, one significant downside was the dining experience. The biggest letdown was the limited food choices, especially in the set dinner menu. While the staff were polite and the service was timely, the menu lacked variety and felt quite restrictive. For a property of this category, I had expected a broader range of options, including some regional or seasonal specials. The lack of flexibility and limited appeal of the dinner options certainly took away from an otherwise comfortable stay. It might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but for those who enjoy exploring a hotel’s culinary offerings, this can be a sore point. The check-in and check-out processes were efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful. There was a general air of professionalism throughout the hotel staff, which contributed positively to the experience. In conclusion, Kenilworth Hotel offers a reliable and comfortable stay with the added benefit of a good location and useful amenities like the gym. However, the lackluster food options—especially in the set dinner menu—stand out as an area that needs improvement. With a little more attention to dining and guest preferences, the hotel could elevate its overall appeal. For now, I would consider it a decent option for short stays, especially if dining isn’t your top priority.

Hotel was clean and beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ms. Kusum was very kind and professional and even changed the room according to our need. Breakfast was with good spread as usual for JW standards. Only setback, too many guests. Crowded during breakfast and lobbies were filled with people due to weddings and events. Otherwise service, amenities and pool areas were all lovely. Satisfied, No regrets

Hospitality was excellent. All the staff were very courteous, which is really commendable as now a days hotel staff are usually found to be inefficient.

Food was very costly without taste, the fridge was non-functional and smelling badly. And there was no proper cleaning being done in the room. Very small room.

My stay at DNG The Grand Hotel in Kanpur was nothing short of exceptional. Whether you’re in the city for business or leisure, this hotel offers the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and top-tier hospitality that truly makes you feel at home — but with luxury. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The staff was incredibly polite, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. They were quick to respond to any request and always greeted with a warm smile, which made the experience even more pleasant. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed. I chose Trinity Hotel Lexicon Matigara for a small anniversary stay but was disappointed by several issues. I had specifically requested a room away from the lift with a good view, yet the assigned room was directly in front of the lift and faced the side of the building with a poor view. The room location caused repeated noise and lack of privacy, which affected our celebration. While the staff were polite, the room allocation felt careless and not in line with the booking request. If this is how room assignments are handled at this property, I’m hesitant to book again. I hope management improves communication and respects guest preferences so future stays better match expectations.

This was one of our best stays in Kolkata. Hyatt Regency Kolkata is an excellent all purpose hotel with high end restaurants and five start guest services, fast Internet, clean rooms and bathrooms, fresh towels, clean water supply always and more. I highly recommend this five start hotel which has kept up to it's reputation for decades. It has a wide variety of food choices and sumptuous breakfast.
