Few niggles but fantastic stay overall especially the Spa service! Didn’t order food or try the restaurant so can’t comment on that.
Toilet facilities fully equipped with essentials you might be missing, like toiletries for women, dry shampoo and deodorant. I’ve never seen this at any other hotel I’ve stayed in, so it’s a nice touch!
Close to the station which is a bonus, a little walk to the city centre with plenty of places to eat.
Coming into the hotel, the receptionist was friendly and welcoming, and the car park had plenty of parking for free which is a bonus. Hotel was quirky to get to our room via hallways, the room was cosy and very clean, with a lovely big bath. Tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of hot water. Hotel was quiet and bed was very comfy. Had dinner in the restaurant and they had a fantastic deal, two drinks and two meals £30. Went with family and we had a pleasant meal and stay. Thank you guys for a nice stay.
A lovely old hotel in the heart of the forest. Lyndhurst is a pretty village and well appointed. The breakfast at the hotel is good. The rooms smell fresh and nicely appointed. Parts of the hotel look a little tired, however the overall experience was very positive. The lady in the front desk really helped when something went wrong and something needed replacing.
Very friendly staff, nice hotel well decorated and great value.
VIn a small town, south of Guildford , might be nicer in the summer, only visited in January. Dog friendly!
Nice little inn off the highway and it’s a hidden gem! Nice Italian decor especially in the restaurant. That continues into the room where my wife commented it made her think of the room we stayed in Venice. Another great thing is that they warmed up the room before we got there, so it’s nice and warm we entered it. Restaurant also served good Italian food. Would stay there again!
Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds. Feels like you're well outside Southampton but are only 15 mins away. (Daughter in Uni there)
Room was nice, we had exec but this isn't worth it to me. It only gives you a better coffee machine and we weren't in the room enough to use it. Save the £20.
No lifts so cases up to the third floor was a bit of a pain. If you're waiting for a ferry and have lots of cases then this could be an issue. We saw a few people struggle with this.
Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. We didn't eat there in the evening, burgers and chips sort of menu but the nearby pub, Chilworth Arms was really good.
The pool is great, small (16m) but very nice with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Towels provided. Staff very friendly. Pool surrounding has quite slippery tiles though. Leisure facility is a bit away from the hotel, only 300 hundred meters from the hotel front but enough to need an umbrella if raining.
All in all, a good value pleasant hotel. Much cheaper than Leonardo's in Soton and still close to Uni etc.
Excellent hotel with great check in support. The staff were great and gave us advice about where we could charge our electric vehicle. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. A nice clean and comfortable room. The bed was really comfortable and we stopped in an accessible room which was great. It had all of the facilities that you would need to be well supported. The only possible addition would be an EV charging point but there were facilities locally which were easily accessible.
BBobstarrLovely staff and great hotel location for anyone that’s a bit more car centric.
Despite not using the on site facilities as much, the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful at any hour.
The room was spotlessly clean, and had decent basic amenities, but the room I stayed in was starting to look a little tired.
Decent value for money however, especially for the time of the year & a weekend.

ゲゲストBreakfast at the weekend doesn't start until 8.00am. We were playing a Pickleball Tournament on their Acrylic tennis courts and needed to digest our food before running around! The hot items weren't all out which was irritating. Bacon, sausages and eggs were missing. As soon as the eggs arrived they were gone because everyone was queuing. If it says breakfast starts at 8.00, then it should all be available on time! Pools are great, (one specifically for children and one for adults. Sporting facility was excellent. Free parking for hotel guests.
Bedroom was very clean and had everything one needed. No air con, but fan in cupboard. Magnifying mirror, iron & board, hairdryer.
I had to stay at the hotel to continue playing my tournament, but wanted to have a last swim to ease my muscles before driving home in a terrible heatwave. They said check out had been at 11.00am and I would have to pay £10! I thought that was rather steep so declined. There was hardly anyone in the pool and a small kind gesture after paying for 2 nights would have lifted my spirits and given a better impression. The pool was also only open from 8.00am. Far too late if people want a swim before breakfast.
Dogs seem to be allowed at the hotel in the bedrooms. 4 yapping dogs in one room is a bit much. Awful for the cleaners and I put the TV on to mask the noise!
Drinks and food quite expensive. Great Indian in the village!
It was great though being able to stay at the actual venue for the tournament. Cheaper through Trip com than the Tournament offer rate!

JJoodsI had booked the hotel as I was attending and office Christmas party and didn’t want to drive home after. The location was important as I wanted easy walking distance from the venues we were visiting and a central location as I would be walking back alone to the hotel late at night.
It felt as though the visit got off to a bad start as although I arrived close to check in time, there was no room to park at the hotel car park. To be fair , the hotel website does mention it’s not big and is on a ‘first come…’ basis, however the site does not explain alternative parking options. I parked at a multi storey carpark about 5 mins walk away. I parked at 3:15 pm with parking expiry at 9:15 am- not ideal- either leave early or make sure you make a note to top up!
The reception area is bright and spacious and looked very pleasant; check in was efficient.
However, the room was very dated, ( dark furniture which had seen better days, the easy chair was in need of recovering). Hmmm
The room looked clean however there was hair (head an ‘body’ hair on the bathroom floor (not one or two strands), and for the first time in over 30 years of hotel stays I had to request housekeeping to clean my room. I requested this upon leaving the hotel for the evening. The receptionist was shocked when I mentioned it and on my return I could she issue had been remedied.
Breakfast was ‘ok’.
VVanessaKLeonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour has exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant is fantastic the staff there are very attentive. The hotel is clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows that made for a great night’s sleep. I really enjoyed using the pool and sauna, although it was a shame that the jacuzzi wasn’t working during our stay. Reception is warm and inviting, with a nice touch of complimentary lemon or orange infused water. Overall, the staff are lovely, helpful, and made the stay very pleasant.
