"I booked online 1 bedroom plus breakfast for 2. We arrived 5.45 the receptionist seemed pleasant at first I told her we had booked bed plus breakfast she insisted we hadn’t and breakfast is separate. I booked through Logis the hotel website. Once checked in she gave directions to another building not actually in the hotel Arnold. It was up the street in another building around the back in room 63. It was dark as it was winter. No instructions were given to us on how to get in the building. After fumbling around for about 10 minutes we finally found a key pad on the wall to gain entry. Our room was pleasant and comfortable but unfortunately these wasn’t a shower only a bath. I am 71 and my husband is 76, not ideal for elderly people. The we went for dinner, unfortunately for us it wasn’t pleasant. If you like fatty ham and sausage great one boiled potato and sauerkraut. We were offered mustard which gave it flavour thankfully! I won’t go on about the problems we had. But I would like to say a few years ago my husband stayed in the lovely Hotel Arnold and wanted me to experience the same but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. In the future I will be staying at the Emmebuckle where I have stayed many times before. A message to Hotel Arnold please don’t display a picture of Hotel Arnold when you send us down the street to stay in a different building!"

"Nice *** Hotel, nice small room but really hard mattress (H4+) in our room, very clean, friendly staff, basic breakfast but with all you need and what we had was tasty - very good restaurant. Enough parking lots. They also offer you a place for EV charging if you need (two lots). Two terraces. Big Tip for the near area: Wine tasting in Gertwiller (7 km) at Zeyssolff winery (french or english tour) - best to book over getyourguide.com - 16 Euro per person - own produced film over the company projected on huge old barrels - GREAT experience - very nice staff there!!! "

"No matter how inexpensive or expensive your hotel room is, or even which country it is in Your room door will automatically and positively close when you leave that room. They are several reasons for this, the most important is for fire safety. If this was not the case, if a fire broke out when you left your room, thick smoke and/or toxic fumes could flood the hotel corridor leading to your room and many others, making escape from the them very difficult if not impossible. Our room did not automatically close. Leaving a gap all around the door, and always needing a hard push to fully close and lock the door. I have videos from outside and inside the room showing this. I found this truly shocking. Why was the room not taken out of use, and locked until it could be repaired? It is not a fault which is possible to miss. I have no background in fire safety, just common sense. The room cleaner and the person checking their work must have known the door was faulty. It does not matter how many formal fire inspections are carried out, if there is no culture of safety for all employees’ terrible things could happen, which could be prevented."
