"2nd time staying here & was once again very impressed. Bright clean room, beautifully presented & overlooked the estuary so had incredible views. Breakfast was served at the Royal George just a short walk away. Fridge in room was handy for holding some cold drinks. Rain shower was easy to use but be aware if you are on the bigger side as the door to get in was quite narrow. Will be back for sure!"

The New Inn Clovelly ★★★

"Just returned from "The New Inn" Clovelly having stayed for 2 nights with my partner, my best friend and her husband. We stayed in room 6 which had a shared balcony looking out at the cobbles. (my friend and hubby) stayed in room 4 which didn't have a balcony but overlooked the sea. This room was larger in size than hours and again, they were extremely happy with theirs. Clovelly is absolutely stunning and photos just don't do it justice. There are beautiful coastal walks you can do but sadly, only being there for 2 nights, we ran out of time. The locals that live there are extremely friendly and welcoming. What made our stay at The New Inn so memorable was Jo - who works in the bar and restaurant. She had us all in stitches, what a funny, witty lady she is. You could not help but warm to her. Teresa (the owner) , her sister, Jo & Gina put their hearts & souls into running this gem of a hotel and nothing is ever too much trouble. On behalf of us all, Tracey, Jason, Becky & Jon. we thank you very much for having us and we hope to see you again when we come back to "The New Inn" . Clovelly"

"We booked in 2023 but when we got there the pub was closed. It was new year's day and the last day of our holiday so we had absolutely nothing to eat. So we decided to try again because the landlady had explained that one of her customers had been taken ill and she'd had to close. I booked believing it would be busy and explained i was vegan to which she replied that wasn't a problem and she'd get 'chef' to sort something out. When we got there it was sooo cold inside. The landlady said the one vegan option was a tart tatin. No other vegan options. So I went with that and my husband had the pie of the day. I said vegetables would be great. Vegetables arrived which were cauliflower 'cheese' and 'creamy' mash which was in the same dish as the sprouts, broccoli and carots. They'd been pre cooked and microwaved, by the look of it. Absolutely tasteless. So for £15 I got a tart and some chips!! Husband's pie was quite good but swimming in gravy. Beer was £5.80 and a small bottle of wine £6.30. Very very disappointing"
