Room was nice and clean, but air conditioning wasn’t working. Asked to change room because without air conditioning room was stuffy. They said there are no more rooms available as all are fully booked, but could provide a fan. The fan did help greatly, but I did a check online and there are clearly still rooms available to be booked.
Brilliant stay! Stayed for the Christmas markets. Everything in walking distance. Unlimited coffee tea down stairs by reception 😄 in the mornings also with snack. So great once you was leaving the hotel. Beds comfy also and view was nice in the room seeing the city
Upon checking in the lade receptionist was quite rude to us never smiled either . In the evening we went to eat in the bar salad came with mud still on the leaves which then put us off our meals, I asked for refund . Receptionist came refunded our salad but not once from the restaurant staff or the receptionist did I receive an apology which is unheard of . Later I asked same receptionist for a late checkout as being a Leonardo Hotels member you can get this free of charge he said yes I shall mark that down. Today at 10am I was wanting to check that the evening receptionist had noted it down luckily I had checked as he hadn't even done it . The lady receptionist had to put it on . Would I stay again absolutely not .
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very clean and great location. The room was big enough for us and I liked that the room had a unique layout. We would definitely stay again.
Fantastic friendly helpful staff that go above and beyond.
Great facilities.
Beds very comfortable. Only one small niggle and that was the room could do with a mirror.
Great hotel tucked into a side street in the centre of Newcastle, away from all the noise. The hotel staff was very attentive and nice. The lobby looks amazing. Nice place to stay while visiting the city.
The room this time I stay is quite bigger than my last stay, it was good. Down point would be the dirty kettle, really really dirty, hopefully it will get the deep clean. The hotel staff is alright, nothing stand out. Overall it was a good place to stay.

This hotel looks classic outside but modern inside. The location is amazing as it took me less than 15 minutes walking to the China town, the main bridge, and shopping centre

ゲゲストExcellent stay at the Dakota in Newcastle. Very professional and friendly staff at check-in and the grill. Quality of the room was fantastic, had everything we needed
ゲゲストThe hotel staff were very friendly & very attentive, which was lovely. I was upgraded to a suite, which was nice to have a lot of space.
The shower pressure was great and the room & bathroom was very clean. The bed was very lumpy/had a dip in it, so unfortunately, wasn't the best night's sleep and I woke up with a bad back, but this may have just been the room I was in.
The breakfast in the morning was average compared to other breakfast buffet's I have had in hotels recently but the atmosphere was very chilled.
For a one night stay, the hotel did the job.
ゲゲストGood airport hotel, but it was uncomfortable for us that they did not allow us to check in before the official checkin time. There is nothing to do at the airport and the center is far.
ゲゲストHotel was lovely. We got room upgraded as it was our anniversary. The room was clean but it has an awful odor in the room. Smelt sour like split milk
Or might have been sick.
ゲゲストI had an early morning flight and wanted the least worry option for making the flight. I chose the Britannia primarily because of its location but was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the prices of food and drink were very reasonable which was another eye opener as I’ve encountered the kind of airport hotel overpricing that normally entails travelling. All in all it was probably the best value for money hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve been all over the world.

ゲゲストI stayed due to having an early morning appointment at The Freeman Hospital. The hotel is about 12 minutes walk from West Jesmond Metro Station and the walk from the hotel to the hospital took me 30 minutes in the snow, so probably 10 minutes less on a more normal day - 5 minutes by taxi probably. I am very impressed given that the hotel is billed as just a 2 star one. I would guess that the lack of a 3rd star will be largely down to there not being lifts, not to my second floor room in the main building anyway - potentially a deal-breake, especially if your visit is Freeman related. My room was every bit as comfortable as a Premier Inn one for example and in it's cheerful contemporary way a lot more attractively decorated. I stayed on 4th Jannuary - and the temperature was -5 outside ! The room was a bit chilly when I arrived but a good fan heater had already been put in there to supplement the normal central heating. It was not the hotel's fault that the shower room was never brilliantly warm! The shower was excellent though and the room was very well equipped. I did not try the breakfast; £13.50. Staff were helpful. I'll stay there again and not just for going to the hospital!
