「Modern hotel, well-sized room and bathroom. Very clean. Goos service. Location is great… but wifi didn’t work over the weekend. This shouldn’t be a problem but in my case, I am connecting for work. The Writer’s Cabin is a rustic retreat with all the amenities you could ever need. It is situated on our small farm on the west edge of Johnson City, a 1 1/2 minute drive from the town square. We have 2 donkeys, lots of chickens and guineas, 2 of the friendliest dogs ever, and a couple of adorable cats to keep you entertained. The yard is full of huge live oak trees, and comfortable seating areas. We offer a full breakfast with farm fresh eggs if you care to join us. We also have two bedrooms in our Farmhouse (across the driveway) available for reservation. Nothing fancy to see here! We are doing our best to work with Nature as we create our home and open our 14 acres of raw beautiful land to guests.
We have 18 hole disc golf, yoga dome, hammocks, trails, fossil hunting, a Spring, etc!
The Treetop Cabin sits a hundred feet away from any other structure and has a patio overlooking the Texas Hill Country. The land provides an opportunity to connect with Nature.
Location allows easy access to Hill Country attractions.
The space:
The Treetop Cabin is a small (maybe even tiny!) cabin that has everything you need for a getaway. A small kitchen (with a stove, sink, and minifridge) that runs right into the living room. The ladder takes you up to the sleeping loft with a queen sized Tempurpedic mattress. The tall side of the loft, where the ladder enters is 7’ tall and graduates down towards the head of the bed. The compact bathroom has a shower, sink, and composting toilet. The cabin opens up onto a large deck on the edge of the hill with some lovely Hill Country sights and sounds.
The cabin is on raw Hilly Country land, which means incredible beauty, yet untamed. It is a 500 foot hike from parking.
1-2 children could be included in the rental as well with 2 adults.

The property includes our 14 acres open for exploration! We have hiking trails, our own private fresh water Spring for swimming, 18 hole disc golf, hammocks, a communal kitchen and social area, etc.

On the property, we have a full community kitchen available to all guests. Including grill, cookware, spices, Pitboss smoker, sink, a fridge, etc.
There is also a communal covered social space. Here you can find books, art supplies, and games.
The neighborhood is a "country" neighborhood: private gravel road, multi-acre properties spaced out, with friendly neighbors all enjoying the peace of Hill Country living.

Enjoy the comforts of AC/heat, and WiFi throughout. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers and showers with a bath tub in one bathroom. Additionally, there are 2 living rooms with 2 comfy spacious couches to accommodate 2 guest. You're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place as the river makes a great place to enjoy a the morning and the evening just by looking at water all year around. We always have water here as it is also spring fed. Paddle boat, fish, wade, float, swim, as there are steps and a dock located by the river all at your own discretion when water is low of course. Another deck is above the hill and the porch yard seating allow viewing of river as well. Both living areas allow ample seating and tables for viewing TV.s in each room or tables for game play.
