"We visited this quiet Victorian town mainly to see the statue of the Scottish Baird, Robbie Burns, and see something of its heritage. It was a convenient deviation on our return drive to Sydney. Ther statue, now located in the town’s visitor centre is said to be the oldest remaining one in the world of Burns. The motel was a good place to stay with a pleasant room, parking at the door, and quite good Wi-Fi. It is right on the main highway and can be a bit noisy with the trucks although that settled down as the night progressed. Only a short walk away was the Hampden Hotel which has a great dining room and very good food and staff. We had a great sleep and the bathroom was of good size with an excellent shower. Worth a visit to this town when exploring parts of rural Victoria."

"Lakes and Craters Holiday Park is ideally set under 2 huge telephone satellite towers. Two magnificent lakes of Lake Bullen Merri and Lake Gnotuk are not at the park as photos claim. Instead are a drive away. Our pet friendly Camperdown holiday park IS LIKE A ZOO with more dogs than people. Panoramic views of the surrounding Lakes and Craters country IF YOU GO TO THE END OF THE PARK TO HAVE A LOOK , but the main site the you see from all locations within the park are 2 towers 50 meters tall. (Telephone reception is five stars) There is a camp kitchen that you will not get to use when the campers arive. Outdated basic children’s playground, laundry and amenities block well undersized only get cleaned once a day at lunchtime so bring your own toilet paper. But there is a mop so you can help yourself and clean if you like. The Park is located in Victoria approx 1 hour from warrnambool. Camperdown’s lakes and craters is not big 4 as claimed, does not offer any children's pedal carts as websites stated. Unmanned office so people constantly get lost finding sites."
