"I stay here a lot and, yes, it's getting to the stage where a refurbishment can't be far away. But it remains No 1 choice for rugby at Kingsholm. On my latest visit, I arrived feeling distinctly unwell. It was well ahead of early check-in time but the staff went out of their way to find me a room so I could rest up and recuperate. I think the lady's name was Don - top-class customer service. See you in a couple of weeks for the next home game."

"I had trouble checking in and had to get help from the bar staff who were very helpful The bedrooms were a bit on the small side for 2 people, there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms and it was very hot weather. The breakfast menu was adequate. We did not have dinner at the hotel. The bottom step on the main stairway had no markings on the edge, and one of my party fell down that step on 2 occasions. Fortunately he was not injured, but the matter needs redressing. We pointed it out to one of the bar staff who said he would pass on the comment. The staff were very pleasant at all times."
