"Adventure Base Camp Kithulgala is definitely a budget-type place, not for the faint of heart. It’s cheap, but I wouldn’t recommend it for couples, families, or anyone who prefers a more comfortable or luxurious stay. The rooms are quite run-down, with some mold, mismatched sheets, and an air conditioner that barely cools the room. The outdoor area is manageable, but because of the dense greenery, it’s full of mosquitoes, so that was a no for me. There’s no nearby convenience store, and the restaurant food is extremely basic, not particularly tasty — just something to fill you up. Service is also very slow; even a simple follow-up order, like two fried eggs, took too long to arrive. The only reason I’d ever consider coming back is for the cheap outdoor adventure activities they offer — and nothing else."
