"Not recommended. We staid at Jufa Bernkastel in July 2025. It was an industrial bunker without soul, outside the town center, the service was mediocre. There as no aircon, so the room was hot. The ventilation system performed badly and didn’t provide any cooling. The staff was aware of this but insisted it was a case of bad programming, so people didn’t leave – they only admitted this upon check-out. There was 1 curtain for 2 windows, so the room couldn’t be darkened properly. Staff insisted this was deliberate, and that if people wanted a dark room to sleep in, they’d have to lower the shutters. These could only be lowered 100% not halfway, so visitors had to choose between sleeping in a hot, dark room or a frsh, light room. The former meaning bad sleep, the latter meaning waking up at the dawn of light. The food… there was just one menu and the restaurant closes at 8PM. The bar says to close at 10PM but staff would either be elsewhere, or they’d say that the last call was earlier. Most of the staff were friendly, but this didn’t compensate for the bad hotel. We paid a lot of money for a luxury stay and certainly won’t come again. We do not recommend the hotel for tourists. Maybe it’s more suited for business?"
